A guide for the 2020 Primary Runoff Election here in the Coastal Bend

Election Day isbrJuly 14, 2020! Do not forget to vote in the 2020 Primary Runoff Elections. Texas isbrholding runoff elections to determine who will fill up the final spots for thebrDemocratic and Republican parties on the November General Election ballot.

Due to thebrcoronavirus, Governor Greg Abbot doubled the period of in-person voting timesbrto desaturate the density of crowds. Early voting dates are as follows: Junebr29, 2020 – July 2, 2020 (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and July 6, 2020 – July 10, 2020 (7bra.m. – 7 p.m.) A list of voting locations in Nueces County can be found here.

Voters can mailbrin or email their absentee ballot applications no later than the close ofbrbusiness on the 11th day before Election Day. If the 11th day is a weekend orbrholiday, the deadline is the first preceding business day. More information canbrbe found about voting by mail here.

Domestic votedbrabsentee ballots must be received by Election Day at 7:00 p.m. or by 5:00 p.m. if postmarked 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. Overseas and military ballots havebrmore information on the absentee ballot link.

During the Runoff Primary Election, you must vote with the same party you voted with in the March election. If you did not vote in the March election, you may vote with either party. Make sure to bring at least one form of I.D. (driver’s license, United States passport, etc. You can find alternative forms of I.D. here.)
