Mah Jongg at the Maritime

The Texas Maritime Museum opens its doors every Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. to engage in the peaceful puzzle game, mah jongg. Maritime members play for free and a $5 fee is added for non-members each week. Only the first 40 to arrive are guaranteed a seat at the table, so be quick!

Sunrise Yoga on the Deck

Watch the sun rise over the bay with relaxing yoga each Wednesday morning. Water Dog Yoga, SUP & Barre welcomes all levels to join in this early-morning relaxation ritual starting at 6:30 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online.

Chain Gang

La Retama Central Library invites crafters of all levels to join in its weekly Wednesday crochet and knitting craft hour from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. For ages 18 and up; bring your current project or learn a new skill and find community with fellow craft lovers.

Every Thursday in August

Lazy Shoes n’ Brews

Lace up your running shoes each Thirsty Thursday at 6:15 p.m. for the weekly Lazy Shoes ‘ Brews run club. Whether you prefer to run or walk, do one mile or five, all are welcome to join. After each run, end the evening with the Hops n Flip Flops social hour at Lazy Beach Brewing.

Lucy’s Lounge

Evening bites, a variety of wines, laid-back vibes and music to set the mood await at Lucy’s Lounge each Thursday. With evening menu specials and wine selections to accompany the sounds of music curated by DJ and record dealer of Hybrid Records, Charlie Highway, Lucy’s Lounge is the perfect evening getaway. Lucy’s Lunchbox opens its doors from 7 to 10 p.m. to transform into a listening lounge.

Bay Jammin’ Concert and Cinema Series

Keep the summer vibes alive a little longer with the Bay Jammin’ Concert and Cinema Series, running through Aug. 20. Gather at the Cole Park Amphitheater every Thursday to enjoy live tunes from local artists as the sun sets, or head over on Fridays for a family-friendly movie screening starting at sundown.

Bubbles and Flow

Bubbles and Flow combines cocktails, conversation and calming exercise to bring a fresh feel to your weekend. From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., stretch, sip, and socialize at BUS every Saturday. Unwind with drinks, connection and relaxing yoga to bring a fun close to the week and a refreshing start to the next.

CATS: Young Actors Edition

Young performers take center stage in CATS: Young Actors Edition, a one-hour adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved musical presented by the Young People’s Theatre Summer Intensive. Set in a whimsical junkyard, audiences will meet unforgettable Jellicle Cats as they sing, dance and compete for the chance to be chosen by Old Deuteronomy on the magical night of the Jellicle Ball. With a 60-minute runtime and a G rating, it’s a fun, family-friendly introduction to one of musical theater’s most iconic productions.

Heritage Park Market Days

CATS Market Inc. welcomes all to their monthly Heritage Park Market Day. Each first Saturday of the month, enjoy local vendors, food and small business pop-ups in the beautiful setting of Heritage Park. Soak in the fresh month with family and friends by supporting and enjoying all things local from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday Sewing Society

La Retama Central Library goes the extra yard each month to bring together the Saturday Sewing Society. Whether you are a master of the stitch or only “sew-sew,” expand your sewing experience by working on new projects each month from 1:30 to 3 p.m. For ages 18 and up, participation is free and all supplies are provided.

Bingo Loco – Name That Song

From the mesmerizing metropolis of Dubai to the historic streets of London to our beautiful bayside of Corpus Christi, Bingo Loco is bringing its famous music-themed bingo to Brewster Street Ice House. Lip sync battles, dance offs, rave rounds and musical blasts from the past take over at 7 p.m. Epic prizes such as trips to Vegas and new household appliances await all karaoke connoisseurs and masters of the mic. Tickets are available online for you and your crew!

Green Thumbs

La Retama Central Library opens its doors for gardeners and plant lovers alike. Let knowledge take root with discussion and speakers covering gardening facts, skills and tips to help grow your gardening skills. Be sure to bring your own plant to participate in the plant swap at the end of every meeting. Ages 18 and up are welcome from 2 to 3 p.m.

August 2

Dungeons & Drafthouse at Alamo Drafthouse – Case of the Unholy Murders

Calling all party members! Dungeon in a Box welcomes adventurers of all levels to join the campaign as professional Dungeon Masters guide players through this mystery adventure. A serial killer is at large and terrorizing the town of Bloom. Join the crew at the Alamo Drafthouse Bar at 1:30 p.m. to stop the killer before it’s too late. The session is estimated to last about four hours, and all supplies are included with the purchase of your ticket.

Rockport Mural Fest

Rockport Mural Fest is ready to bring the community together through artistic expression. Local and international artists come together to create murals throughout downtown Rockport. See the city transformed and meet the artists during the week-long event, and experience the passion and talent of muralists in the annual celebration of art.

August 4

Open Mic Night First Tuesday hosted by Mattman

The House of Rock invites all local musicians to set the stage and share their talent at the longest-running open mic in Corpus Christi. Hosted by Mattman, Open Mic Night is the chance to test new material in front of a crowd, show off your talent, share your passion or just enjoy the sounds of local music. Performers are provided with instruments and equipment and given a three-song set. It is free to attend and free to perform, meaning you’re free to enjoy each first Tuesday of the month. Performance sign-up begins at 6:30 p.m. and the stage opens at 7 p.m.

First Friday Artwalk

Rock n’ Roll Flea Market

The House of Rock opens its doors at 11 a.m. for August’s Rock n’ Roll Flea Market. All ages are welcome to grab a bite, grab a drink and explore local vendors’ rock n’ roll merchandise, decor, CDs, t-shirts, posters and much more. Vibe with fellow music lovers, find unique pieces and enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience.

August 9

Coffee Painting with Sam Derleth 

Join local artist Sam Derleth as she leads an artistically caffeinated journey. Using coffee to paint watercolor style, the focus is on building layers with the monochromatic medium. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, challenge your inner artist to learn a new skill and create a unique piece of art just for you. Make sure to purchase a ticket online before the deadline, August 6.

Looking for your next read? Look no further than The Favorite Book Exchange. Each month, book lovers are invited to bring a favorite book, sign and date the copy and exchange it with another literature enthusiast. From 6 to 7 p.m., grab a cocktail and bring a copy to The Annex and turn the page to a new experience.

Padre Island Farmer’s Market

Coastal charm and community come together every second Thursday of the month for the Padre Island Farmer’s Market. From 4 to 7 p.m., shop fresh, local produce, handcrafted goods and decor while enjoying tasty treats and a welcoming atmosphere.

Craft Nights Presented by HEB

Crafters and creative minds gather at K Space Contemporary on the fourth Thursday of each month for Craft Nights. Thanks to H-E-B, participation and tools are free from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Bring a project or grab a craft kit from the Fill-A-Bag art shelf, and let your imagination flow.

Top Gun Movie Night

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the classic action film Top Gun aboard the iconic U.S.S. Lexington. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. to an ’80s themed watch party, filled with music, costume contests, prizes, food and opportunities to take a picture with F-14 Tomcats seen in the film. Grab a ticket, bring a chair and enjoy an on-theme scenic view as you watch the movie.
