So, you had a great photo session and you are in love with the images you’ve received. Now, what do you do with them?
Well, there’s the old standby; mat and frame. But if you want something totally different, modern and fabulous, take a look at some of the options available to you now. And yes, we at Faithful Witness Photography have tried and tested many of these beautiful and durable options and you can see them in our studio.
Acrylic
For an ultra chic and modern flair, draw attention to your images with this high-impact design. Acrylic Prints are beautiful fine art prints face-mounted to plexiglass with polished edges. They are offered with a variety of ultra-modern mounting options such as pegs or French cleats which raise the print away from the wall. They can be made with different surfaces, thicknesses, and with different backings. For a large focal point, try a split cluster of your favorite image! And, for table-top displays, choose an acrylic block.
Metal
Metal prints represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it, your images will take on an almost magical luminescence. The ultra-hard scratch-resistant surface is waterproof/weatherproof and can be cleaned easily – just avoid direct sunlight. And just like acrylic, there is a wide variety of sizes, surfaces, display options and even corner treatments.
Ceramic Tile
This creative display method starts with the same white ceramic tiles that you find at home improvement stores. Then they are sublimated with your images for a truly unique home decor item. The tiles last indefinitely and can be made in a variety of finishes and applications. Ceramic tiles are perfect as wall art, magnets, trivets, and coasters, and are also suitable for tile mosaics installed with mortar and grout.
Thin Wraps
This option is a beautifully finished float mounted print with no frame needed. First, the image is made with your choice of photo papers or canvas. Next, it is laminated in glossy or satin. Then, it’s wrapped on a rigid board, with or without a foam layer. For a wall display, add a spacer block which allows the image to appear to float from the wall. These can also be ordered as wall clusters or splits, or come with an optional easel stand for tabletop display.
Wood Prints
Whatever your preferred style, be sure and meet with your photographer and plan how and where you will display your images. Then your photographer can factor in those plans when designing your shoot.
