There is something about a good old slice of pizza that just never gets old. While the Coastal Bend isn’t necessarily known for pizza, that doesn’t mean there aren’t local spots serving up the best slices around. The next time you find yourself craving a piece of savory pie, try out one of these pizzerias!
B and J’s Pizza
This long-time Corpus Christi hotspot has everything you’re looking for in a pizza place – from flavorful pies to excellent brews. Whether you choose to dine at the original or Southside location, the Jack’s Special is an all-time favorite. However, we recommend trying the B and J’s Original served with pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushroom, onion, and double, extra onion.
House of Rock
Whether you want a big slice of cheese or pepperoni, or looking for more adventurous options, House of Rock has you covered! Check out the crowd favorite bacon cheeseburger pie at House of Rock. This particular pie includes everything you’d think a hamburger pizza would have: Ground beef, American cheese, bacon, red onions baked to perfection, and topped with diced Roma tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and a dill aioli swirl.
Authentic New York Pizza
With their classic New York flavors, and other favorites like meat lover’s and margarita, Authentic New York Pizza has a more authentic and true to New York taste. Check out their Texas Pizza with smoked brisket, sausage, or turkey. If you’re feeling bold, the Brooklyn Bomba comes with 15 different toppings…and comes in at a whopping eight pounds.
Panjo’s Pizza
With their signature thin crust pizza, and fun flavors such as the Pickle Thin Crust Pizza and the Smokey Joe’s BBQ Chicken Pizza, this nostalgic Coastal Bend favorite is a must on the local pizza tour. If you’re a fan of the Chicago-style deep dish, we definitely recommend ordering it from here. You can choose between the classic cheese or build your own.
Tower of Pizza
This Calallen pizza place has specialty pizzas stacked with ingredients. Offering a slice of Italy right here in the Coastal Bend, their menu ranges from pizza to pasta. However, we’re talking slices and when it comes to Tower of Pizza, we recommend the Tower Deluxe, which includes ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, onions, and extra cheese.
Padre Pizzeria
Moving onto the Island, this pizza place has a thin crust pizza that’s hard to say no to! With their speciality red pizzas, check out their Kitchen Sink pizza, that has everything except the kitchen sink! This pizza has pepperoni, Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, bacon bits, beef, fresh sliced tomatoes, black olives, white onions, green bell peppers, fresh mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, and spices.
Dylan’s Coal Oven Pizza
This Port Aransas staple offers authentic, New York-style pizza, pasta and other pizzeria favorites. Featuring their signature coal oven pizzas, we recommend their Greca pizza with spinach, tomato, feta cheese, red onion, mushrooms, mixed olives. While there, check out their specialty cocktails with Italian and Texan flavors.
