I am a wife, mother of 4, and grandma of 2. Oh, and an office manager for my husband’s business and own a small local boutique. Needless to say, if I get lipstick and sunscreen on, it’s a great day! They say “it takes a village,” and in my case it does. I’m super lazy when it comes to a makeup routine so I have my lash extensions done by Liza, my brows micro bladed by Savannah, and the rest by my dermatologist Dr. Kimberly Finder. TMI, but it’s the truth. I don’t wake up like this…oh wait, maybe I do? At 54, I’ve learned that your body is very similar to a home – build a strong foundation, do regular maintenance, and embrace the quirks. I swear by Intense Pulsed Light, Botox, drinking lots of water and a handful of fabulous products that I’ve used for many, many years (and a few new ones) all recommended by Dr. Finder. My daily routine is super quick and easy. Also, pro tip: I highly recommend everyone have a makeup artist in their family for those fancy occasions.

This was the first product Dr. Finder recommended 15+ years ago when I walked in for my first visit. It’s a must have! I remember being in Dallas, in a snow storm, and realizing I forgot my Clarisonic! The city was basically shut down, no food or room service, but the wonderful make up counter lady at the nearby Saks sympathized with my dilemma and walked one over to my hotel. WALKED IT OVER! Game changer. I initially went to see a dermatologist because of brown patches on my face and décolletage. After a full series of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments, my skin was bright, clear, and so smooth! Using this keeps it that way. Nia 24 Sun Damage Repair for Décolletage and Hands

Don’t forget the skin on your neck and upper chest! That part of your body is exposed to the sun and can show signs of aging very quickly! The IPL treatments on my upper chest area removed the browns and reds and using this, in addition to sun screen, keeps it bright and clear. FYI, they’ll tell you the intense pulsed light feels like “little rubber bands snapping on your skin.” It’s more like lightning bolts! It’s called “intense” for a reason.

This is magic! I never wore sunscreen before because all the ones I tried were oily and heavy. My dermatologist requires and makes you promise to wear sunscreen every day. EVERY DAY. It’s actually a requirement to become a patient of hers. She’ll be the first to tell you all her hard work and your hard earned money will be wasted if you don’t protect your skin from the sun. I, too, prayed to the sun gods as a teenager. Covered in baby oil and hopes of a deep dark tan. Yikes. This tinted sunscreen is the best I have ever used! With an SPF 40 and water resistant for up to 80 minutes, it’s a wear anytime, anyplace, any activity kind of base. This is my makeup foundation – no other powders or cover ups.

Ok, it’s not a product but it is the best advice you’ll ever receive. I read an article where dermatologists were saying they can tell what side a woman sleeps on just by looking at her face. Become a back sleeper. Period.
