New Beverage Truck Offers Coffee & Tea
Focused on strange brews and great vibes, Creatures Coffee & Tea Co. is coming to a street near you! The menu includes a variety of coffee and tea-based beverages, such as the Black Lagoon, an espresso-based drink with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal milk and black sugar syrup, or the Taro Mashmellow Attack complete with taro creme milk tea and marshmallow lava. The new beverage truck also serves up milk and fruit teas in differing flavors with boba add-ins available. Plus, for just a dollar extra, you can add a donut to your order! Las Braza’s Cocina Bar Grill Quickly Becoming a New Local Favorite
Located on Alameda next to Gates Donuts, the new Mexican American spot, Las Braza’s Cocina Bar & Grill, is quickly becoming a local favorite. Owned by Sarah and Franco Longoria, the restaurant’s menu includes items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From classics such as chilaquiles and barbacoa plates for the first meal of the day to its “Braza’s Plates” including fajitas and costillita for supper, the menu is packed with variety and flavor. The couple also renovated the building to reflect a more modern design both inside and out! 4425 S Alameda St.
Odi’s Pizzeria Napoletana’s Brick-and-Mortar Underway
Fans of the mobile brick oven pizzeria Odi’s Pizzeria Napoletana will be happy to know the food truck’s plan to open a brick-and-mortar location is well underway. The only option in Corpus Christi for Naples-style pizza, the restaurant will be located at 6313 Wooldridge Rd. and is aiming to open early this summer. If you just can’t wait to get your hands on a delicious pie, the original food truck is continuing to pop up outside the future location. The restaurant will serve a limited menu of pizza, sandwiches, soups, anti-pasta and desserts upon its soft opening, and then expand to larger pasta dishes you won’t find elsewhere in town. DOKYO DAUNTAUN Plans to Re-Open for Lunch
If you’re among the many locals who miss taking a break from the day with lunch at DOKYO DAUNTAUN, we’ve got good news. The popular eatery plans to re-open for lunch hours (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.) on Jun. 19. Make sure you check out the lunch menu specials, which include items such as Korean short rib quesadillas and bulgogi spring rolls.Until then, stop by for a delicious dinner and make your way through its experimental menu featuring an array of summer cocktails (the Gemini Sun is a personal favorite and includes rum from the local distillery Vida Cana), flavorful mocktails and seasonal sushi rolls that look almost too pretty to eat. 424 N. New Winery Opening on The Island
As the new winery on North Padre Island’s website states, “It all started with a boy and a girl and a love for wine.” Pam Conner, who worked as a pharmacist for over three decades, and her husband Dr. Byron Conner, were inspired by their wine adventures over the years and decided to venture into the industry themselves. The small, family-owned business, Siren’s Call Winery, makes all its wines locally on The Island. The selections will include both fruit classic and fruit signature wines, grape wines and even frozen slush wines! The new business is hosting a grand opening event this month on Jun. 22 from 5 – 8 p.m. and all are welcome. 14225 S Padre Island Dr.
Barcade Opens its Doors w/ Full Food & Drink Menu
Fans of a good game night rejoice: Retrocade is officially open for business. The two-story local arcade in the heart of Downtown Corpus Christi boasts a causal and family-friendly atmosphere with a bar and grill located on the first level and the entire second floor dedicated to arcade games. Food options include pizzas, sandwiches, salads, burgers and more; plus, “finger baskets” are perfect for the littles or for sharing! A variety of beers and specialty cocktails–such as The James Bond made with gin, vodka, dry vermouth, lemon and garnished with a lemon twist–round out the menu. 326 N. Chaparral St.
