Supreme Athletics Training Center, the newly opened basketball facility pioneered by Jacolby Satterwhite, is a space where the youth of Corpus Christi come to hone their craft. The training site is a home for those looking to dream and grow their skillset under the guidance of Satterwhite, who is transforming the landscape of the local basketball culture.
Satterwhite’s journey started in the Hillcrest neighborhood of Corpus Christi. “Basketball has always been my anchor,” he shared. “I started training one kid at a park — just the two of us out in the heat with no roof. From there, word spread, and suddenly, I needed more space. Renting gyms wasn’t cutting it anymore, and that’s when I realized I needed a home base to do this the right way.”

As the city’s only basketball-specific training center, it’s become the go-to spot for the region’s top young players. The Training Center is a space where quality players come to get even better. “And even the kids who aren’t as skilled develop into great players here,” Satterwhite added.
Satterwhite focuses on more than just developing basketball ability. His goals include building confidence, fostering discipline and helping kids see their potential. “Nothing beats putting kids in college,” he said. Seeing those he trains succeed and reach their goals is his favorite part of the job.
Beyond basketball, Satterwhite sees his role as a mentor and example for his community. He scratches his entrepreneurial itch through his clothing line, inspiring ambitious curiosity in his athletes, and always makes it a point to attend his athletes’ school and club games or tournaments. Needless to say, Satterwhite is a fixture in the local sports scene.

The gym itself is a testament to his vision. The space is equipped with everything an athlete could need, from the VertiMax system for agility and explosiveness and weights for strength training to an open space designed for precision drills.
A project of this scale is contingent on the village that provides the vision. Brad Walker is someone of great importance to the development of the Supreme Athletics Training Center. “I started training his kid, and we built a close relationship. During the process of acquiring the building, Brad really helped me in some key areas. His support meant the world to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for him believing in what I was doing,” an appreciative Satterwhite said.
Supreme Athletics Training Center is something rare. The Training Center is a place where basketball transforms into something bigger, a symbol of what can happen when passion meets purpose. By putting in a bit of effort with the proper guidance, the juice is always worth the squeeze, especially if you trust the process.
