Annually celebrated on the 17th of March, St. Patrick’s Day honors the death of St. Patrick in the fifth century. When the Irish arrived in the United States, they brought the tradition with them, and the festivities surrounding the day have only continued to grow. In fact, the official New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the world’s oldest civilian parade and the largest in the U.S., with over 150,000 participants. While the Coastal Bend might not boast a parade of that size, and whether you’re a fan of green-dyed beer or not, there are plenty of St. Patrick’s Day events in Corpus Christi to join in on the fun. Just don’t forget to wear green!
St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Challenge

In The Game Funtrackers is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all weekend with a fun guessing game! Participants will get to guess how many shamrocks there are in the magical jar to win a $25 gift card to the multi-entertainment family attraction. The arcade is open Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
St. Paddy’s Day Festival Corpus Christi

One of the city’s most popular St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, Cassidy’s Irish Pub will host an epic day-long block party on Saturday, Mar. 16. The St. Paddy’s Day Festival will kick off at noon and include live music from 12 different bands, including 18 Hours, the Raul Ayala Band, Seatle Rising and more split across an indoor and outdoor stage. Plus, don’t miss the Silver Thistle Pipes & Drums and the Gildea School of Irish Dance. This year’s festival footprint has expanded to include more tented seating, a kid’s zone with inflatables, food trucks, and more. The event is free to attend, and prices for green beer pints and pitchers vary.
Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

Throw on your best St. Patrick’s Day attire and join the Official Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl starting Saturday, Mar. 16 at 4 p.m. featuring drink specials from participating local spots. The bar crawl check-in is at The Bridge Bar & Club and includes stops at The Gold Fish, Executive Surf Club, El Camino and more.
Sing Bar Karaoke Lounge’s St. Patrick’s Day Karaoke
With a green beer in hand, head to the stage and channel your inner performer at Sing Bar Karaoke Lounge’s St. Patrick’s Day Karaoke event! The local bar offers specials on $2 Jello shots, and $5 green shots. The bar opens on Saturday at noon and karaoke begins at 7 p.m.
St. Patrick’s Weekend Breakfast Buffet

Shamrock Shuffle 5k/Walk 1k

The 7th Annual St. Patrick School Shamrock Shuffle commences on Saturday, Mar. 16, at the Cole Park Amphitheater with a 1k Leprechaun Chase at 7:30 p.m. for ages 3-8. The 5k Run/Walk begins after the Leprechaun Chase at 8 p.m. Register here and pick up your packet at 1412 Airline Rd. on Friday, Mar. 15, from 12-6 p.m. to participate.
