Unleash your inner child at Lucy’s Snackbar this Saturday for the second annual Lucy’s Field Day competition and market! Taking over the block for a day of nostalgic summer fun, this fundraiser benefits the Boys & Girls Club and the Je’sani Smith Foundation. Teams representing downtown businesses, from Water Street to newcomers Community Grocery and Streat Corner Kitchen, will compete in classic field day events, including three-legged races, hula hoop contests, 3-on-3 basketball and even an owner/manager dunk tank. Cheer on your favorite businesses (or your working friends) during competitions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., then stick around for the market and live music, which runs until 5 p.m. Kids and leashed pups can join the fun, too, with separate ticketed field day events designed just for them. For vendor information, participating businesses and sneak peeks of other family-friendly activities, follow the Lucy’s Field Day page.
