Spring cleaning is the perfect excuse to get your closets organized and stylish. With more daylight hours, plus plenty of sunny days, you’ll want to spend an afternoon cleaning, organizing, and purging things that no longer spark joy when you look at them.
You may think a closet is just for storage, but you can combine form and function in a closet so that it becomes a stylish space that you enjoy. While you may not be able to add square footage to your closet, you can add stylish storage solutions that maximize the space you do have.
Also consider incorporating decorative objects that serve a purpose. Use a unique sculpture from a local vintage store to display necklaces, find a small mirror that can add some glam to your space, or use crystal containers to hold small accessories and hair clips.
TIPS:
• Use peel and stick wallpaper, which is also renter friendly, to line your wall or the back of shelves in a fun, bold pattern. There are so many affordable options out there.
• Baskets are a great way to store small items. I recommend baskets that allow you to see what’s in them at a glance. You can also use baskets in drawers, which is especially helpful in a bathroom or kitchen.
• Look through your clothing, handbags, and accessories and donate anything you haven’t worn in a year. There are many local charity thrift shops that you can help with your donations.
• Add in a small bench to a closet, if you have the room. It’ll be a great place to sit to put on shoes or to put down your handbag at the end of a long day.
