Fall in love with your lips this Valentine’s Day! Whether you are looking to rejuvenate your lips by decreasing fine lines and restoring lost lip volume or if you are looking for pouty, more-defined, voluminous lips, treatment with lip filler will have your lips irresistibly kissable this season!

One area that starts to show signs of aging earlier is the lips and around the mouth through thinning of the lips, loss of shape, and increase of lines around the lips and mouth. Using dermal fillers to restore shape and add volume back to the lips or filling the lines around the mouth will help in giving you a more rejuvenated look.

Dermal (skin) fillers used for the lips are an injectable hyaluronic acid gel that, once injected, acts like an inflated cushion to support facial structures and tissues to provide volume and fullness to the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally present in the human body. It is found in the highest concentrations in fluids in the eyes and joints. The hyaluronic acid that is used as medicine is biodegradable, non-animal, stabilized hyaluronic acid.

There are several different types of dermal fillers on the market. The areas you want to enhance or correct will determine and your desired results determine which product to use. Before you consider having an injectable treatment, please be aware that you might not achieve the results you want with just one treatment. Depending on how your body reacts to the injections and your desired outcome, you might need multiple treatments and additional injections before you are completely satisfied with your results. Dermal and lip fillers last between six to twelve months, depending on your life style, body chemistry, and the rate at which you are naturally aging. To maintain the appearance of their filler, most patients have repeat hyaluronic injections every nine to twelve months. If you decide not to re-treat with filler, your appearance will gradually return to its original condition.
