The Coastal Bend’s fitness landscape continues to grow, and Pilates is having a moment. Four local studios (some brand-new, some newly expanded or rebranded) are redefining the way locals connect with movement; from “Power Pilates” to personalized one-on-one sessions, each offers something unique.

Bayside Pilates

An early player in the Corpus Christi Pilates scene, Bayside Pilates opened its boutique studio in 2015, with Tori Froemke taking over in 2019. With its new second location in the Water Street Market, there are double the opportunities to take a class. Between the two studios, you’ll find a typical Pilates class with Reformer and mat work; and Power Pilates, which still incorporates Reformer and mat work, but in a more challenging way for a spicier workout. New clients can start with a special package and later upgrade to a membership that best supports their goals. Private solo and duo sessions are available by appointment only.

Highline Pilates

Anything is possible at Highline Pilates, a newer addition to the studio scene. Driven by a strong athletic background and focus on post-injury healing, owner Spencer Gambill is committed to improving the strength, mobility and flexibility of the community. Highline Pilates offers private, duo and trio sessions with drop-in and 10-pack pricing. Sessions are tailored to meet individual goals with personalized guidance. New clients can schedule a free first-time session with Gambill by simply sending a text to 361-462-9942.

Divine Moon Yoga & Pilates

Step into a space of serenity with Divine Moon Yoga & Pilates, which embraces mindful movement, injury prevention and recovery with core strengthening, spinal stabilization, breathing and flexibility. Housed in the former Studio Be Pilates location, Divine Moon separates its two-floor studio by The Floor Space for Reformer Pilates sessions and The Cloud Space, reserved for breath-led yoga. Classes include private, duo and trio Reformer Pilates sessions, as well as private and small group yoga and sound healing. Class schedules, memberships and packages are available online.

Pilates Place of Rockport

Pilates Place of Rockport owner Toni Chidester brings decades of healthcare experience to her practice. In addition to private and Reformer sessions, group classes on the mat and FitCore Mat Sessions, Pilates Place also offers a class called Silver Sneakers that’s a fitness program designed specifically for seniors. The low-impact, chair-based workout emphasizes hip stability, shoulder mobility and core strength. A first-time introductory session is available, and class schedules and packages can be found online.
