What exactly is thebrPeriod Movement?
The Period Movement is all about celebrating periods andbrtrying to erase the stigma when it comes to talking about them. We also getbrinvolved in the community by making period packs to distribute to localbrshelters. These include items all women would need for their period!

How did you first getbrinvolved with it and ultimately start a chapter here?
Sometime in 2016, I saw an ad on YouTube from Kotex about abrproduct drive they do to donate to homeless shelters. I thought it was such abrgood idea and I felt kind of guilty because I didn’t realize this was an issuebrthe United States was facing. In November of 2016, I decided to do a Go Fund Mebrto raise money to donate period products to local shelters. I ended up raising abrlittle over $1,200 in 13 days. I was doing more research and discovered PERIOD.brThe Menstrual Movement, and I then decided to start a chapter here in CorpusbrChristi.

Why is this cause sobrimportant?
I never have to worry if I have enough money to buy pads andbrtampons and it breaks my heart that some women/girls have to skip school andbrmiss out on opportunities due to their period. So, with PERIOD. Corpus Christibrwe try to bring awareness to an issue that usually doesn’t receive a lot ofbrattention.

When you aren’t busybrhelping the community, what do you do for fun?
I love spending all my money on concert tickets to see mybrfavorite bands! I also love relaxing and watching movies then recreating thebroutfits on my style blog.
