The Fourth of July is approaching, and grand firework displays are an essential part of the upcoming celebrations. From Corpus Christi Bay to Aransas Bay, here are 11 recommended spots and events to enjoy the shows!
The Mayor’s Big Bang Fireworks Celebration
Watch the Mayor’s Big Bang Fireworks Celebration over the Corpus Christi Bay, complete with the Mayor’s Burgers & Wings Cookoff at Nueces Brewing & Barbecueing at 11:30 a.m. and the Coastal Comida Food Truck Festival at 1 p.m. on July 4. Enjoy food trucks, face painting, live music and more, all before the fireworks show blasts off at 9:30 p.m.

Price: This event is free to attend and open to the public.
Fourth of July “Mayor’s Big Bang” VIP Watch Party
Catch the Mayor’s Big Bang in VIP style at Gallery 41 Water Edge Grill’s official Watch Party. Hosted by Retro 94.7’s Bart and Arlene, this event puts you front and center to all the action. Packages include VIP parking, a reserved table for four or six, access to Downtown Management’s Block Party with live music, food trucks, vendors, a buffet and Gallery 41’s full menu. The party kicks off at 5 p.m.

Red, White & Boom Fireworks Viewing Party
The flight deck of the USS Lexington just might have the best seat on the bay for watching the Big Bang Fireworks Celebration. The Red, White & Boom Fireworks Viewing Party entry fee includes a seat on the deck with the option to purchase food, beer and wine starting at 7 p.m.

Price: $25.00 for non-members, $15.00 for members, $15.00 for military with ID and free for children 3 years old and under.
Port A’s Independence Day Fireworks Celebration
Enjoy the fireworks in Port Aransas with a community event at Robert’s Point Park beginning at 4 p.m. The festivities include popcorn and live music from the Coastal Benders. The fireworks display starts around 9 p.m.

Corpus Christi Hook’s Post-Game Fireworks
Word around town is the Corpus Christi Hooks have the best post-game fireworks show. Though they’ll have some competition this 4th of July, nothing says “I love America” more than baseball and fireworks, so consider enjoying Independence Day at Whataburger Field at 7:05 p.m. as the CC Hooks take on the San Antonio Missions. If you haven’t gotten your fireworks fill come July 5, fear not. The CC Hooks are extending the 4th of July celebrations to Saturday (same time, same place), with a special Saturday night fireworks presentation after the game.

Indian Point Park
If you prefer to be a little further away from the action, consider watching the Corpus Christi show across the bridge at Indian Point Park, Pavilion and Pier. The renovated pavilion, expansive pier and park provide ample room for a relaxing fireworks viewing experience right on the bay.

RETRO Corpus’s Let Freedom Rave
Celebrate the Fourth with a view from the top at RETRO Corpus. Kick off the night with a round of arcade games, then head to the rooftop for the Let Freedom Rave party starting at 7:30 p.m. The 18+ event features DJ sets from Cortx, Zero Ticker, Kawe$hami, CKaze and Steve V. Plus, a prime spot to catch the Mayor’s Big Bang.

Price: This event is free and open to individuals aged 18 and up.

Island Blast Fireworks Display
Organized by the Island Foundation and completely funded by donations, the annual Island Blast Fireworks Display is a beloved tradition in the North Padre Island community. In true Island style, the grand display is viewable from most residents’ docks and begins just after 9 p.m. If you don’t live in the area or want a closer view, head to Whitecap Blvd and avoid restricted parking areas.

Wendell Family Fireworks
A cherished tradition in the Rockport community, the 60th annual Wendell Family Fireworks display lights up the night sky like no other. Several locations along Aransas Bay make for optimum viewing. Pull up your car, lawn chairs or picnic blankets to one of the recommended viewing locations to watch the approximately 4,500 fireworks shells fired in celebration!
Locations: Broadway/Fulton Beach Road, along Highway 35 near Little Bay, Rockport Beach Park or the Rockport Marina and Sea Wall.
Price: The viewing locations listed above are free unless beach access fees are required.

Cole Park Amphitheatre
Enjoy live music and fireworks all in one spot at Cole Park Amphitheatre’s special Fourth of July edition of the Bay Jammin’ Concert Series. From 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., set up your lawn chairs and catch performances by 18 Hours and Nico Little & the North Americans. When the Mayor’s Big Bang Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m., the music will keep the energy going as the sky lights up overhead.

Corpus Christi Bayfront
Anywhere along the Corpus Christi Bayfront will provide a front-row seat to the Mayor’s Big Bang Fireworks. Whether you post up along the seawall or on one of the T-Heads, you’re guaranteed a great view. Don’t forget to tune in to US 94.7FM, 95.5FM, 92.7FM, 98.7FM or 1440AM for a synchronized soundtrack to the show.
