October 13, 2018 – Thirty-one years of life-saving service to South Texans is a reasonbrto celebrate, and the community of Lagarto hosted a Cook Off Celebration andbrfundraising event to support the Mission of the non-profit air ambulancebrservice founded in 1987 on October 13 at the Riverbend 534 Club in Sandia.

The IBCA-sanctioned CookbrOff, also a Texas Championship qualifier, pulled in 41 teams this year-almostbrdouble the 22 team-number from last year’s event. Professional cooking teams werebrjudged in multiple categories and awards distributed to winners. A lively livebrauction was also conducted by professional auctioneer Richard Berry with allbrproceeds benefiting HALO-Flight projects like blood transfusions on board thebraircraft in the near future.

Generous sponsors donated fundsbrto cover all the expenses associated with the fundraising event and the CookbrOff Committee presented HALO-Flight Board Member Leo Rios and HALO-FlightbrDirector of Marketing Jane Haas with $21,093.50 to advance the Mission ofbrHALO-Flight.
