As an attorney, mother and avid participant in community events, self-care is something that can easily fall by the wayside without a reliable and consistent routine. Building a beauty routine with products you love and can trust is something that I of course cannot recommend enough. At the end of the day, though, it comes down to quality over quantity.
I have found that it can sometimes be difficult to balance self-care with things like work and motherhood, so I try to keep it simple with a no-fuss, “get out of the door in 15 minutes on a Monday” kind of routine. In order to achieve balance in all aspects of life, it’s important to not overcomplicate your regimen. Over the years, I have come to realize that I just do not want to spend a whole lot of time getting ready, so by using high-quality products and making a few changes, I am able to get to where I need to be and enjoy what the day has in store much quicker.
I love to look and feel my best, but I don’t want to take multiple steps in order to get there. Small changes like washing your hair less often and using dry shampoo for maintenance have been huge game-changers for me; along with eyelash extensions that have shaved time off of my morning makeup steps. It’s all about the simple, yet efficient routine that will allow you to experience the excitement of life in the Coastal Bend while still maintaining self-care.

Eye cream is essential, and this is a product that is absolutely worth the splurge. This cream is rich and luxurious and it works, big-time!

Laura Mercier Illuminating Pure Canvas Primer & Natura Bissé Sheer Eye Cream
Available at Julian Gold
I like to use these products in conjunction as a skin perfector. I apply a thin layer of the primer, followed by the tinted eye cream over my whole face. By using these two products as a kind of skin tint, I am able to get the perfect dewy, sun-kissed look while evening out my skin tone and avoiding a heavy foundation.
Natura Bissé Essential Shock Complex
Available at Julian Gold
This anti-aging and firming serum is an explosion of all things youthful and good. The quality is great and the price can’t be beat for a designer skin care product.
IGK Direct Flight Multi-Tasking Matcha Dry Shampoo
Available at Ulta
This shampoo leaves my hair good to go for three days between washes. I love this because it doesn’t leave a harsh powdery look and it doesn’t contain anything that will dull out my blonde hair.
Kerastase Blonde Absolute Hair Serum
Available online at Kérastase
This is a silky and luxe product that helps reduce and control frizzy hair. When it comes to living on the coast, we all need a product like this. It can be put on wet hair the day you wash and dry, and then used as a hydrator on dry hair between washing days.
