People have been able to purchase Hamlin Bakery’s delectablebrpastries and baked goods through various other local restaurants, pop-up shops,brand by stopping by the bar at Hamlin Fountain for a while now. However, thisbrpast Wednesday, Hamlin Bakery (the newest addition to the inside of thebrbuilding) had their soft opening. Needless to say, there was no shortage ofbrcakes, cookies, and other tasty treats available for patrons and the Lady BakerbrSquad did not disappoint.

“It feels great,” lead lady baker, Katie Nicholson said in regard to the bakery finally havingbran open space of its own. “It is a dream ten years in the making and it isbrfinally here.”

Nicholson,brwhose grandfather opened the Hamlin business in 1960, feels proud for obviousbrreasons, but mainly because of how she is able to continue her family’s legacy.brThe bakery took the old counters from the original pharmacy and had thembrlocally refurbished into functional counters for the bakery. By maintainingbrsome of the original elements of the space, there is a nostalgic feel that immediatelybrengulfs you.

“Mybrgrandfather stopped by yesterday and we got the seal of approval from him,”brNicholson says with a smile. “So, we know we did good.”

Nicholsonbrhopes this addition attracts the younger generation to Hamlin and, in turn, helpbrthe business as a whole continue to grow and flourish.

Whilebrthe bakery is officially open for business, they don’t plan on slowing downbranytime soon. With a couple more renovations to be done and a menu expansion (suchbras new dietary restriction pastries) in the works, you can expect to see bigbrthings from these ladies.
