Christine Bruno has long been passionate about helping people feel beautiful. Inspired by her own transformative color analysis in October 2023, she found a new calling: After living in Corpus Christi for three years and searching for a way to connect with the community, she trusted her instincts to bring House of Colour to town this past summer, and began sharing the power of color with her clients.

“When I had my colors done, it was a life-changing experience because it made me feel really beautiful,” Bruno said. “I noticed we didn’t have anything like that here, and I jumped at the opportunity to bring it to Corpus Christi.”

The concept of color analysis involves enhancing a person’s natural beauty by finding the colors that suit them best. Backed by science and rooted in the color theory introduced by Swiss painter Johannes Itten in the 1930s, the process is highly personalized.

During the appointment—2-2.5 hours—clients come in barefaced, and Bruno analyzes their undertones in natural light using precision-dyed drapes, offering each client an in-depth analysis to determine whether they are warm or cool. She then assigns them a season — autumn, winter, spring or summer — and curates a specific palette designed to highlight their best features. Bruno assists her clients in embracing a wider variety of colors, helping them find the best shades for each season, including neutrals and black.

“We also teach the three points of red,” she said. “Each season has its own three shades of red, and I show clients how to properly use them without clashing.”

For Bruno, the experience is deeply personal and fulfilling. When clients step into her studio, they often feel vulnerable, but by the end of the session, they leave feeling confident, rejuvenated and radiant in their new colors. This feeling of transformation is why she fell in love with color analysis and believes Corpus Christi needed this service.

At the end of each appointment, she provides clients with a 36-color swatch fan, a detailed booklet with information on their season and curated shopping lists with access to a House of Colour lookbook, making the process of buying clothes in their season effortless. Whether it’s coordinating outfits, accessories or hair color, Bruno helps clients build an intentional, harmonious wardrobe.

Her influence extends beyond aesthetics; her clients frequently report feeling more professional, approachable and powerful, thanks to wearing the right hues. Bruno’s goal is to show people that their natural beauty can be enhanced simply by embracing the colors that suit them best, creating a lifelong shift in how they perceive themselves and their wardrobe choices.
