 Self-care 101

Taking care of yourself allows you to be the best version of you, so it is for good reasons self-care and self-love are topics so on trend right now!

The biggest component of any beauty program should be wellness, self-care and self-love; making time to slow down and connect with our self on a regular basis is an absolute must.

Inner health, outer beauty is a philosophy about living a life that centers on living better, more wholly, truthfully and having fun in the process! True beauty will then bubble up on the inside, spilling over to the outside!

Renew your skin

Just as we all lead busy lifestyles, our skin is always staying busy as well, by making new skin cells. You can’t see this new younger-looking skin if it’s hidden under older layers. Our skin exfoliates itself naturally, but this process slows as we age and can be further affected by factors like weather or cosmetic products.

Adding exfoliation to your self-care regimen one to three times a week will instantly refresh your complexion, support healthier skin function and cellular respiration by removing dead surface cells and debris, plus give you that “just had a facial” glow!

There are many easy at-home exfoliants available that will take your skin to the next level, so set yourself up for success with a good at home routine.

Professional strength exfoliation
While having a consistent exfoliation step in your weekly at-home regimen is needed to keep your skin smooth and allow for the best product penetration, nothing compares to the deeper results of a professional exfoliation or peel.

This can come in the form of a physical scrub or different forms of dermabrasions, to a chemical exfoliation like an enzyme peel or multi-acid treatment. There are many different options available, and the ideal exfoliation type will be selected based on your skin type and condition, ensuring the right level and method to avoid irritation.

–  Planning monthly facials ahead of time is the best way to ensure that you’re keeping up with the necessary maintenance to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy.  I recommend booking a couple of months of facial treatments at a time so that you keep the commitment to care for self and the skin you are in, while also achieving a higher level of benefit to the overall appearance of your skin.
