If you’ve visited the downtown area recently, you might have noticed more color on the walls. Local and national artists have united to brighten Downtown Corpus Christi. Thanks to Downtown Corpus Christi’s 2025 Mural Fest, five new murals will be officially revealed on Saturday, June 7, at the Mural Dedication Block Party from 3-9 p.m.

This year marks the 4th annual Downtown Corpus Christi Mural Fest. Since the inaugural event, a total of 21 new murals have been added to enhance the downtown visual experience. This year, the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) has partnered with K Space Contemporary to engage local artists in creating a mural based on their designs at the Chaparral Bluff Wall, located near 325 S Chaparral. Since its establishment in 2001, K Space Contemporary has made significant contributions to the beautification of the Corpus Christi landscape.

CCDMD is proud to work with this year’s group of talented visiting artists, all of whom are award-winning muralists. The lineup features Chris Bingham from Dallas, FoxySwine from Atlanta, Graham Carraway from Colorado and Mandi Caskey from Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, local artist volunteers and students, guided by Michelle Smythe, the Executive Director of K Space, will participate through the K Space Mural Arts Program.

“We’re really proud and excited to partner with K Space Contemporary, a non-profit organization which has contributed over 30 murals,” Corpus Christi Downtown Management District Communications & Public Relations Specialist Daniela Campos said.

This year’s festival features murals located further south than in previous years. All five murals are situated in the south downtown area to celebrate the growth of local businesses in that part of downtown.

“Every year [Mural Fest] gets bigger and better,” shared Campos. “We’ve gotten more creative with how we involve the community. We love [this event] and it’s only possible with the support of our community and partners.”

Festivities kicked off on June 1 with a community day and the installation of K Space’s mural. The excitement continued as participating artists began covering their designated walls with personal grid systems and bringing their creations to life. The live painting runs through June 6, with each artist adding their final touches during ArtWalk X Mural Fest.

The event will include the usual wide variety of block parties, pop-up stages with live music, food trucks and vendors. MuralWalk welcomes visitors to take self-guided tours of the new additions to downtown’s public art scene throughout the evening. Bingham’s brightens Mariposa Park at 325 S Chaparral Street, while the FoxySwine duo brought bold color to the PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital Garage on Born Street. Carraway added his touch to the side of the CC Old Car Museum on S Chaparral and Caskey’s mural spans the Hillaird Law building along S Shoreline Boulevard. Visit the website for a splatter pass, which includes self-guided tour information.

The week-long festival comes to a close on Saturday, June 7, with the Mural Dedication Block Party located between Kinney St. and the PAM building. From 3-9 p.m., the community is invited out to celebrate the official unveiling of all five completed murals and enjoy a myriad of vendors and food trucks, with additional programming at the Art Center of Corpus Christi.

Whether you’ve caught a glimpse of the murals mid-process or are joining the final celebration on June 7, Mural Fest offers a reminder of how art can bring people together, shape a place and spark further inspiration. As the walls of Downtown Corpus Christi become more vibrant with each passing year, so does the CCDMD’s commitment to creativity and connection.
