Onebrthing Nick Perez always brings to the table is a fresh and creative addition to both thebrfashion world and our community. Perez is the mastermind behind Nicó – a custom,brhigh-quality womenswear line, specializes in women’s wear from practicalbrcocktail dresses to intricate evening wear.

Perez has been in fashionbrdesign for six years. His fashion brand, Nicó, has allowed him to travel aroundbrthe country and contributed his creativity and designs to vatious projects. He’s attended the Council of Fashion Designers ofbrAmerica (CFDA) Awards as a special guest for Mac Cosmetics. Nicó is anbraward-winning brand, recognized by our very own Locals List, and, most recently,brthe Rising Star Award for Fashion Design, presented by Fashion GroupbrInternational (FCI).

He’s currently working on abrnew collection right now, making it his sixth. In the meantime, Perez says he feels motivated to produce a display show to celebrate Corpus Christi’sbrmagic and where the brand has been. With Love, Nicó is a celebration ofbrNick’s upbringing, where the brand has been, and how Corpus Christi was thebrplace where it all started.

“I recently moved to SanbrAntonio, and have had a lot of work going on around the state. I want the showbrto share the success of Corpus Christi because it’s where the brand started.brIt’s where the magic came from and why I’ve been able to have these amazingbrexperiences and work with so much talent locally and nationally,” says the designer.

The new exhibit highlights sixbryears of gowns, celebrating the future of Nicó and the creativity brought out bybrthe entire Nicó team. Showcasing past editorials, handmade sketches, and runwaybrshow memorabilia, With Love, Nicó will highlight 13-15 pieces from Perez’s career. Including the iconic curtain dress – Nick’s first piece designedbrfrom curtains his mother was clearing out.

“I want to show the endlessbrpossibilities of couture in Corpus. It’s proof that it’s not where you are,brit’s what you do with it,” he says energetically. “I wanted tobrcreate a space people can visit, feel inspired by, and possibly dobrsomething bigger than they’ve ever imagined.

With Love, Nicó will open March 7th, and be onbrdisplay at the Art Center of Corpus Christi for the entire month.
