Virtual and no-contact events this weekend in the Coastal Bend

The weekend is finally here and we’re not letting social distancing stop us from supporting our favorite local activities and entertainment. Take a stress break and immerse yourself in these local events this weekend:

 

First Friday Virtual ArtWalk

It’s the first Friday of the month and ArtWalk is definitely a go. A variety of local vendors will create an awesome shopping experience online that includes amazing sales, discounts, and promotions. While you shop, don’t forget to participate in Downtown Corpus Christi’s #CurbsideChampCC program to earn a free “I Support Local” t-shirt. On Friday during normal ArtWalk hours, 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm, visit the link to the website list and follow the Downtown Corpus Christi on Instagram at @downtowncorpuschristi to access the sites in one place.

 

Curbside Live Music Series 

Herrman & Herrman, PLLC presents Curbside Live Music Series every Friday night. Enjoy live music in the beer garden at Brewster Street-Southside every Friday from 6-9 pm. Grab a [socially distanced] table and enjoy the sounds of John Eric & Friends this Friday. Parking spots will be reserved for Curbside & Takeout patrons to enjoy dinner and a show from the comfort of their vehicle. Portions of the sales made from 6-9 pm will benefit food and grocery purchases for local musicians and music industry professionals in need of help. Fans can also donate through Venmo and Brewster Street will match the amount up to $500 a week. Virtual Listening Party

El Dusty is hosting an online listening party Friday at 12 pm for his new track BRUK WINE, featuring The Happy Colors, Andre da Tippa, and Soulfiya. With Moombahton drums, and El Dusty’s signature Cumbia sound, this virtual event is sure to liven up your Friday. Curbside Concessions, Characters & Cocktails 

The Harbor Playhouse reaching out to the community! On Friday from 6-9 pm, visit the Harbor Playhouse for Curbside Concessions, Characters & Cocktails. Offering concession food and specialty drink combos to-go in drive-thru fashion, patrons will enjoy favorite Broadway tunes, cameos from show characters while waiting for their curbside deliveries. Quarantine: Virtual “In The Rounds”

Tune into the Corpus Christi Songwriters Facebook page this Sunday beginning at 7 pm for another phenomenal virtual concert, as local and regional songwriters perform live within 25-minute slots. Corpus Christi Songwriters will be accepting donations for the performers via PayPal and Venmo. Virtually attend on Facebook @corpuschristisongwriters.

Corpus Christi Southside Farmers’ Market

Swing through the Corpus Christi Southside Farmers’ Market this Saturday from 9 am-12 pm. Located at 5800 Everhart Road, pick up locally grown fruits and vegetables, fresh baked goods, locally made tea, kettle corn, jams, jellies, pickles and more. “Our farmers’ and food producers have been working diligently to help you to restock your groceries,” shares Corpus Christi Southside Farmers’ Market. Virtual Buc Days Experience

In the spirit of Buc Days, the non-profit is sponsoring a virtual Buc Days experience with live music from Mikey Rivera on Friday at 7 pm, the crowning of the Buc Days King and Queen, Satuday at 6 pm, and Myndfields & Chili Funk Horns, Sunday, May 3 at 6 pm from the patio stage of The BUS. Painting with a Twist 

“Paint with a Twist” virtually taught by a talented Painting with a Twist artist, at the time you receive from your registration confirmation. Gather with the rest of the class through ZOOM.
