The first Friday of each month here in Corpus Christi is always filled with tons of art, music, and entertainment, thanks to the Art Walk. K Space Contemporary is hosting Allisan Montgomery, a TAMUCC student’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition in the gift shop. The work on display is a series of hand threaded photography following a supernatural exploration of unfamiliar territory. Plus, K Space’s Spectacular Salon Exhibition opens tonight as well. Stop by and view some amazing art by local talent!
House of Rock, 511 Starr St., Corpus Christi

This unique event mixes together art and wild, unique motorcycles to create a one of a kind event. The House of Rock will be filled with motorcycles, vintage racers, garage built, and customs all on display. There also will be a silent helmet auction with helmets customized by local artists. All of the proceeds will be donated to the BethMatch Cancer Foundation, in honor of Dynamo Dan Clark—the man who kept this event going for so many years. Want more reasons to attend this awesome event? There will be live music from Total Death Mechanics and The Blind Owls.
Art Museum of South Texas, 1902 N Shoreline Blvd., Corpus Christi

Every first Friday of the month, The Art Museum of South Texas opens up their doors with an admission fee of $1. Yes…you heard that right, ONE dollar! After you have checked out the Art Walk, make your way down Shoreline and wander through the many extraordinary exhibits on display at the museum. Added bonus? There is a special screening at 6:30 PM of the film Flower with editor, Jeff Seibenick as a special guest—who is to do a Q&A after the film. Plus, the film does not require you to spend any extra money. You’d be crazy to not take advantage of this awesomeness!
4th Annual Lighting of the Market

Join the Water Street Market Family for a night of holiday festivities. The lights will be turned on at 6:30 for a grand reveal! Walk over to The Texas Surf Museum for a photo opt with Surfin’
Santa and live music from local musicians. Bring the whole family and enjoy a night filled with local shops, business, and talent all wrapped up in a Christmas bow!

36th Annual Harbor Lights Festival

This is one of our all-time favorite Corpus Christmas traditions! The Harbor Light Festival is kicking off the Coastal Bend’s holiday season. If you’ve yet to feel the Christmas mood, the lighting of the downtown Christmas trees is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit. The night will feature entertainment, crafts and games for the kids, food trucks, local vendors, exhibitions, and of course, the grand finale boat parade beginning at 7 PM! Head over to the Alamo Drafthouse of Corpus Christi this Sunday for a special screening of Elf and a photo opportunity with Mr. and Mrs. Claus themselves! The event will feature movie props, hot cocoa, snacks, and more. There will also be a silent auction featuring tons of great items! All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Coastal Bend Food Bank.

Lace up your sneakers and take a walk for a good cause! The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Organization is hosting their 1.5 mile walk this Sunday. Registration time begins at 12:30 PM and the opening ceremony will start at 1:30 PM. Come out with the whole family (bring your dogs even!) and get in your daily cardio all while raising awareness! Water Dog Floating Yoga, Corpus Christi Marina: 89 Coopers Alley L-Head

Water Dog Floating Yoga is one of the newest (and trendiest) ways to get fit in the Coastal Bend. Join them for an evening accompanied by the meditative qualities of the moon, wind, and waves. They will be hosting this event on their Houseboat Studio deck to allow guests to enjoy the sunset and the full moon rise, followed by a gentle yoga flow that will include moon salutations in honor of the moon and its energies. This class is for all levels of yogis, so don’t be discouraged! The class is $30 and spots are limited, so register online at, waterdog.cc.
