A new, fierce anthem brings El Dusty’s masterful approach of crate-digging and turntablist tradition and links Latin classics with the new generation of bass-heavy Soundsystem’s hip-hop culture. The latest collaboration from the Latin Grammy-nominated composer, arranger, and ringmaster features world-class act and Godmother of Party Rap – La Madrina del Pari Rap – Zairah.
The L.A.-based, Mexican and Nicaraguan Latin rapper Zairah has garnered attention for her bold lyrical flow, fearless genre-blending, and captivating loud stage presence. The single, “Catch It,” highlights a lyrical prowess from Zairah’s Spanglish rap to bring a dancefloor-ready beat with a pulsing bass.
“Dusty and I really wanted to have fun with this one! We’ve all been through so much in the last year; it feels great to have something so positive and fun come out from all of that,” comments Zairah.
On Saturday, October 30th, at the House of Rock at 9 pm, the performance will debut at the Soundsystem dance party, Tropicoso, a Cumbia Latin dance party. Tropicoso, one of Dusty’s signature and beloved events, returns to House of Rock this weekend for the first time in well over a year.
El Dusty’s live performance includes accompaniment by The Homies, an assortment of live performers including celebrated percussionists, vocalists, and dancers to deliver high energy and massive dance floor beats.
The Tropicoso event will also feature giveaways, performances from Johnny Hotcakes, Principle Q, and DJ Fiezta, a Halloween costume contest with a $1,000 cash prize, and more. Tickets are available for purchase online.
