Every year, The Bend asks readers to highlight the best that the Coastal Bend area has to offer. We then gather the winners and announce them in our July 2023 print issue. Now in its eighth year, The Local’s List rounded out at 173 categories, 164,709 votes and 21,801 participants. That’s a drastic change from its inaugural year back in 2016, when the poll consisted of just 37 categories, 16,000 votes and 1,300 participants.
Although the numbers have continued to grow over the years, the purpose behind The Local’s List has remained the same. It will always serve as a reminder of the people in this community who pour themselves into making the Coastal Bend a dynamic and exciting place to live, work and play. Behind every Local’s List winner, you’ll find a dreamer. You’ll find sacrifice, grit, passion, ambition. The entire team here at The Bend, would like to genuinely congratulate each business that won its respective category, made it into the top five voting round or was even nominated in the first place.
