Panjo’s Pizza Parlor Celebrates 60 Years
At the intersection of Airline and McArdle stands Panjo’s Pizza Parlor, the oldest pizzeria in town. Surrounded by ever-changing businesses, this beloved “ye olde pizzeria” has remained a constant, serving up slices with heart and history. On Sunday, Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Panjo’s will celebrate 60 years in business with a grand anniversary event featuring a vintage car show, local vendors, pizza by the slice and commemorative tote bags showcasing images from the pizzeria’s storied past. 1320 Airline Rd.

New Local Taco Joint Opens on the Southside
A fresh addition to South Texas’ taco scene, Taco Locos and Margaritas is quickly becoming a local favorite. Located near Staples St. and Yorktown Blvd., Divina Lewis and Carlos Arguelles opened the restaurant this summer. The menu covers all the essentials—taco plates, fajitas and carnitas—but standouts like the Quesabirria, with its marinated birria beef, Oaxaca cheese, onions, cilantro and consommé, and the birria ramen caught our attention. For a playful dish, try the PIZZA-Dilla, a cross between pepperoni pizza and a quesadilla layered with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni. As for the margaritas for Tacos Locos, fresh fruit is a must. 7426 S Staples St #102
