For the second year, hundreds of art lovers from all over will flock to the city of Rockport for the 2nd Annual Spring Art Fair. A true celebration of Texas art, the event features galleries and collectives invited to show artwork for acquisition and collection.
Hosted by Rockport Center for the Arts (RCA), this year’s event (presented by Salemi’s Ace Hardware), takes place from March 25 to March 27, and will include fine art created by national and international artists from 14 different galleries across Texas. The two-day, booth-style show will be held at the Fulton Convention Center beginning on Saturday, March 26, with a VIP-Preview Party, including heavy hors d’oeuvres and live music by Gulf Coast Jazz, taking place Friday evening, March 25.
While last year’s fair just featured work from local galleries, this year’s exhibitors expand throughout the state. Guests will find area favorites such as Mi Vida Loca Gallery and K Space Contemporary and Texas gems like Presa House (San Antonio) and Cerulean Gallery (Dallas and Amarillo).
“We are ready to kick off our 2022 event season with the Spring Art Fair,” said Luis Purón, executive director for RCA. “Last year, for our inaugural Art Fair event, we featured the work of local galleries and artists. We are excited to expand the format to include galleries from across the State of Texas.”
Single-day tickets are now on sale for $5 per person for ages 13 and up, and children 12 and under are free. Individual tickets to the VIP Preview Party are $125 per person for RCA members and $150 for non-members. Patrons attending the VIP Preview Party will have the chance to view artwork first and have the opportunity to acquire pieces that evening directly from exhibitors before the event opens to the public on Saturday. Proceeds benefit the many free and low-cost cultural programming of RCA.
