Pride Month is celebrated internationally every June to honor and recognize the LGBTQIA+ community and its numerous accomplishments, progress and contributions to our history, emerging from the Stonewall Riots in June 1969.
Here in Corpus Christi, you’ll find many interactive and exciting ways to celebrate Pride Month, and we’ve compiled a list of events happening in the area to help you plan ahead. In addition to those listed below, numerous events are organized by small business owners, local artists and community groups, showcasing the diversity, inclusivity and creativity in our city. Check out event calendars from organizations such as PRIDE Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation and the Coastal Bend Pride Center for additional programming throughout the month.
Q.O.C.C. Walking Club Pride Month Kick Off Picnic | June 1
The Queers of Corpus Christi Walking Club is kicking off Pride Month with a family and pet friendly picnic on June 1. Meet the group at the picnic tables at Cole Park from 10:20 a.m. to noon for games, chalk and a picnic in the park. RSVP by joining the Facebook Group.
Art Out Loud Free Craft Day | June 1
Get crafty with the Art Center of Corpus Christi at its free workshop from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on June 1. For ages 16 and up, participants will try their hand at monoprinting and create art centered around bold and unapologetic themes. A safe space for self-expression and connection, the Art Center will provide all necessary materials while supplies last. Seats are limited and registration is required.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch | June 4 – 12
Local theatre Aurora Arts Theatre will celebrate Pride Month with four showings of the groundbreaking Obie-winning Off-Broadway smash, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The story follows Hedwig Schmidt, an “internationally ignored song stylist” in an unexpectedly hilarious story with a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine backed by the hard-rocking band “The Angry Inch.” As the theatre states on its website, the production is a “rocking ride, funny, touching and ultimately inspiring to anyone who has felt life gave them an inch when they deserved a mile.” Tickets are available for purchase online.
Pride Movie Night: The Wedding Banquet | June 5
On June 5, starting at 6:30 p.m., join Pride Corpus Christi and Alamo Drafthouse for a special screening of the 2025 remake of The Wedding Banquet. Directed by Andrew Ahn, this retelling of Ang Lee’s 1993 classic delves into the complexities of identity, family expectations and the true meaning of love. Celebrate Pride Month by experiencing this poignant and humorous film highlighting the importance of chosen family and self-acceptance. Doors open at 6 p.m., so arrive early to secure your seat!
Tick, Tick, Boom | June 5 – 15
Local theatre pride continues with Port Aransas Community Theatre’s production of Tick, Tick, Boom, running from June 5 through June 15. Based on the autobiographical musical by playwright Jonathan Larson, the play shares the story of an aspiring composer in New York City who is worried he made the wrong career choice, whilst navigating the pressures of love and friendship. “Pride in Color” Exhibition | June 6 – 28
On display through June 28, The Art Center of Corpus Christi presents “Pride in Color.” This exhibition features works from local artists and ranges in medium, including paintings, sculptures, collage works and various mixed-media pieces. The exhibition’s theme showcases the power of color, identity and inclusivity.
Literacy is a Drag | June 7
Organized by local entertainer Robyn Valentine and The Free Store, this event aims to celebrate the power of storytelling, self-expression and community. Benefiting our local public libraries, guests will enjoy drag performances from Valentine herself, along with Assyd Tripp, Vampirella, Arson Nick and Ronee Marie Van Winkle. All ages are welcome to attend this free event and enjoy the show, along with local vendors to shop.
Mental Health Support Groups Open House | June 11
Join Pride Corpus Christi at 6 p.m. on June 11 with Strengthening Wellness for a mental health open house in celebration of Pride Month. The event includes a tour of the center’s therapy spaces, information about free support groups, self-care swag bags, an “Ask us Anything” therapist acitvity and networking with the staff.
Electric Pride Run| June 13
Lazy Beach Brewing Southside and Pride Corpus Christi present the Electric Pride Run, a neon glow-in-the-dark workout experience! Runners and walkers of all abilities are invited to participate in this free event starting at 8 p.m.–just make sure to wear your best neon attire.
Pet Paw-Rade | June 14
Make plans to attend the 5th Annual Pet Paw-rade at St. Paul United Church of Christ on June 14, 9:30-11 a.m., for a family-friendly event celebrating LGBTQIA+ inclusivity in our community. The event includes a pet costume contest, kids activities, refreshments, a pet parade and more.
Out Professionals Mixer | June 18
Organized by the Coastal Bend Pride Center, Out Professional Mixers brings LGBTQIA+ business professionals and allies together to network and embrace community. This month’s mixer will be held at The Annex from 5:30-8 p.m. on June 18.
Rainbow Pop Up w/ Weird Corpus & AMST | June 19
Celebrate the creativity and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community at Weird Corpus’ Third Thursday Rainbow Pop Up on June 18 at the Art Museum of South Texas from 5:30-9 p.m. In collaboration with Pride Corpus Christi, the event includes vibrant art, bold goods and creative finds from local artists and small businesses for you to shop. Plus, DJ Johnny Hotcakes will be keeping the energy up and sweet treats will be available.
Quest For Pride: Medieval Fantasy Bar Crawl | June 20
Get ready for a night of fun, friendship and festivities in the heart of downtown Corpus Christi with the annual Pride Pub Crawl. Organized by Pride Corpus Christi in collaboration with Celebutante, this year’s crawl theme is “Quest for Pride: Medieval Fantasy,” and will be hosted by Isis Paris York and Azul Entertainment. The crawl kicks off at 6 p.m., and an official route will be announced soon. Each stop will include a variety of puzzles, challenges and hidden treasures for participants to discover. End the crawl at House of Rock for the annual Disco 3000 event hosted by Celebutante, and the official after party will be at The Hidden Door.
The Art of Drag | June 21
Hosted by K Space Contemporary, this year’s Art of Drag category is “Stinging & Stunning” and is inspired by the fierce and fabulous world of bugs and insects. Expect to be wowed by performers serving looks that buzz, flutter and sparkle—transforming the gallery into a dazzling display of bold looks and brilliant talent. Attendees can also enjoy local vendors, a donation wine bar and live DJs. This event is intended for ages 18 and up, and tickets are available for purchase online. Doors open at 7 p.m. and showtimes run from 8 to 10 p.m. Proceeds from the event will help support Pride Corpus Christi.
CC Hooks Pride Night | June 25
Whataburger Field and Pride Corpus Christi join forces to host an evening of community, unity and fun. Starting at 6:30 p.m., watch as the CC Hooks take on the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and enjoy special surprises, activities and concessions. Pride Gala 2025: An Evening of Pride and Celebration | June 26
Pride Corpus Christi and the Texas Riviera Empire present the inaugural Pride Gala 2025, an evening dedicated to celebration, reflection and impact. Starting at 6 p.m., enjoy drag performances, talks and testimonials from community leaders and more. The event will raise funds for the Rainbow Room, a vital initiative benefiting children and youth served by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Guests are encouraged to bring toiletries, diapers, kids’ clothing, shoes or school supplies to be donated at the door.
Rainbow Run/Walk 5K | June 28
The Coastal Bend Pride Center will host its 3rd Annual Rainbow Run/Walk 5K event starting at 7 a.m. on June 28. Open to runners and walkers of all ages, the route begins at Cole Park and takes participants along Ocean Drive towards downtown Corpus Christi. Proceeds from the event directly fund vital programs at the Coastal Bend Pride Center, including its LGBTQ+ Youth Group, Trans Support Group and other life-affirming services. Early sign-ups cost $25, and registration is open online.
