The PRIDE 2019 celebration is just about a week away and therebrwill be no shortage of fun to partake in. The Mosaic Project of South Texas, a localbr501©3 non-profit organization, announced all the details to this year’s 4thbrAnnual Corpus Christi Pride Celebration and we’re here to lay the week out inbrone handy little guide.

The celebration, as a whole, is an annual festival whichbrfocuses on commemorating, educating, and celebrating LGBTQIA+ equality andbrhuman rights. This is more than just a party – this is the largest annualbrLGBTQIA+ advocacy event in the Coastal Bend! Local businesses, communitybrgroups, and non-profit organizations come together during this week to educate,brprovide resources, sell goods, and connect with prospective clients and volunteers!

Celebrating love, diversity, and the beauty of the LGBTQIA+brcommunity within Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend is the goal. The means tobrthis end goal? A week-long celebration filled with events for the whole family.

Monday, June 3rd – PRIDE Movie Monday @ The AlamobrDrafthouse

You know the new biopic coming out about Sir Elton John andbrhis fantastical journey? Yeah, I’m sure you’re familiar. Well, you can join inbron PRIDE Movie Monday for a private first run showing of ROCKETMAN! Each ticketbris $20 and gets you a seat, popcorn, a drink, and the chance to win some coolbrgiveaways. PRIDE Corpus Christi and Equality Texas-Corpus Christi joinbrforces to host a patio mixer for all! Allies and friends will gather on ThebrPost’s outdoor seating area to enjoy drinks, food, and good conversation. Thebrfun starts at 7 PM.

Wednesday, June 5th – OUT of Control Comedy Nightbr@ Mesquite Street Pizza Company

Sandra Valls – comic, actor, singer writer, and diva – will bebrsetting the mood just right with her hilarity  Wednesday night. Valls, best known for herbrpowerful and electric stand-up performances on Showtime’s The Latin Divas ofbrComedy and PRIDE: LGBT Comedy Slam, mixes her stand-up talents and unique storytellingbrto bring you non-stop laughs. The show starts at 7 PM and is open to those 21brand up with a valid ID. Tickets are $20.

Friday June 7th – YNOT Youth Prom @ Everhart EventbrCenter

Join YNOT’s 3rd Annual LGBTQIA+ Youth Prom event.brThis year’s theme? A Night Under the Big Top and is open for young adultsbrbetween the ages of 13 and 24. Circus themes galore – let your imagination runbrwild! There will be a limited capacity so get your tickets early (they are onlybr$5)

Also on Friday night, the I <3 G80s Prom @ The Bay JewelbrEvent Center! Dance the night away 80s style at PRIDE very own LGBT Prom event.brPRIDE hopes to provide a second chance with this event for everyone to enjoybrtheir prom night in the company of friends and allies! Drinks, music, dancing,brand all the other prom stuff your heart desires will be featured at the event.

Saturday, June 8th – 3rd Annual PRIDE CorpusbrChristi Parade

The third annual PRIDE Corpus Christi Parade is scheduledbrfor Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 3 – 4 p.m. featuring the Honorable NuecesbrCounty Judge Barbara Canales as Grand Marshal. The approximately one-milebrparade route begins at Shoreline Boulevard and Mann Street then runs southbralong Shoreline Boulevard and ends at Water’s Edge Park.

After the parade, the official PRIDE Block Party will kickbroff at Water’s Edge Park! This free event will feature entertainment for thebrwhole family! With 9 food trucks, booths from civic groups, local businesses,brarts and crafts, drinks, there is something for everyone. There will also be abrbeer garden and a Victory Pro Wrestling competition where the first-ever Pride ofbrTexas Heavyweight Champion will be crowned!

Sunday, June 9th – A PRIDE Wedding @ St. Paul’sbrUnited Church of Christ

Following a public call for nominations, a lucky couple willbrwin a private wedding celebration at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Localbrbusinesses generously contributed toward our fourth wedding package giveawaybrthat will make the wedding a truly memorable experience for the betrothed.

Also on Sunday, you can head to House of Rock for the TransbrPRIDE event. Trans Pride is designed to educate the community about thebrtransgender community. The event is free and open to all ages. Autumn NicolebrMcClure will be speaking along with Angela Baker, Liz Robledo, Rylan LukebrMartinez and others. The event will be held from 7 – 11 pm.

And, lastly, you can head over to The Exchange for PoetrybrNight: PRIDE. Local podcast, Revolve One, has partnered with the Coastal BendbrWellness Foundation and PRIDE Corpus Christi to host an evening of poems,brprose, and pride at The Exchange. This event is designed for us to embracebrourselves and express our identities together as well as showcase our diversebrand dynamic talents.
