Where do you get your news first?

Lexi: CNN’s 5 Things email every morning. Every Friday includes a quiz to see how well you paid attention all week! For local, I rely on breaking news alerts from the KRIS TV and KIII TV apps.

D’Anne: For local news, I visit KRIS and KIII websites. For national updates, I go to CNN.

What app do you open first in the morning?

Lexi: Instagram. I monitor social media for clients, so I check to make sure nothing crazy happened overnight that requires action. Then I switch to my personal feed for all the local tea and to see what my friends are doing.

D’Anne: Instagram.

What newsletter always gets clicked open?

Lexi: The Bend’s Weekly Drop and CNN’s 5 Things.

D’Anne: CNN’s 5 Things.

What podcast do we need to be listening to?

Lexi: “Smartless” with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, and “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend,” both featuring weekly celebrity interviews.

D’Anne: “How Did This Get Made?” featuring three comedians discussing B- or C-movies from start to finish, trying to figure out how a studio could greenlight such ridiculous movies.

What books are making you think?

Lexi: As more of a TV watcher than a reader, I turn to books to dive deeper into what I’m watching. I like to read George R.R. Martin’s books before the “Game of Thrones” seasons and subsequent series air on HBO. Over 700 pages of a chronicled 150-year history of the Targaryen rule can really make you think…that’s embarrassing. I also like music history, so I get really into books like Dylan Goes Electric! about Bob Dylan’s first performance with an electric band and Meet Me in the Bathroom about the New York rock scene post-9/11.

D’Anne: I’m keen to keep it light and enjoy reading autobiographies by comedians. I like books by SNL alumni such as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler or comedy writers like David Sedaris and Judd Apatow, where I can learn the stories and creative ideas behind the jokes that have been making me laugh my whole life.

Any other media you consume that people need to know about?

Lexi: Some of my favorite TikTok accounts: @localtxfoodie | @pbsnews | @teamcoco | @jack.savoie | @toekneecorrado.

D’Anne: @snopesdotcom on Instagram to verify what is true and what is clickbait, and @adweek in Instagram for news, insights and inspiration that is focused around my professional industry.

How can people connect with you?
