School is almost out, and you might be wondering how to fill all that upcoming free time this summer. Luckily, there are a variety of exceptional summer camps here in Corpus Christi to help! From visual and performing arts camps to nature and sports camps and everything in between, here are 17 summer camps to consider.

EDUCATION & DISCOVERY CAMPS

Summer Programming – Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History

What to Expect: Designed for children ages 5 to 11, the museum’s summer program features 10 themed weeks of new STEAM activities. Each week includes five days of fun with a morning session (10 a.m.-12 p.m.), an afternoon session (1-3 p.m.), and special Saturday sessions for families (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) running from June 1 to August 7. This summer’s themes include engineering, chemistry, history and backyard science.

Sign Up: Registration is now open, and the price per session is $20 for non-members and $15 for members. 

South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center Summer Camp

2026 Kids Summer Nature Camps – South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center

What to Expect: The South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center offers a variety of summer camps for children ages 6 to 16. Five different five-day camp sessions run from June 8 through July 10. Topics range from birds and nature photography to snakes and eco ambassadors. Each day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon, except for the Eco Ambassadors session, which runs from 1-4 p.m, and is designed for those who would like to volunteer at the Gardens on a regular basis.

Summer Kids and Young Adult Camps – Del Mar College 

What to Expect: Children of all ages are invited to weekly or daily camp sessions through Del Mar College. Children in 1st through 8th grade will explore new academic interests during the day, and young adults in grades 9-12 can hone life skills in the afternoon. Running June 8 through July 24, these themed sessions will give your child something new every time they come in. From STEM and survival skills to art and cooking, these camps offer something for every child.

Camp Invention

What to Expect: Is your child an innovator at heart? If so, this inspiring summer camp is perfect for them! Geared toward children entering kindergarten through sixth grade, the camp features hands-on challenges created to spark curiosity and build confidence in the exciting world of STEM. Camp Invention will encourage kids to imagine, plan, experiment and create. Flour Bluff Intermediate School will host two sessions (June 1-5  and June 8-12) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Windsor Park Elementary School will host a session June 2-5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Before and after care options are available.

Sign Up: Registration is now open, and camp fees begin at $285. After registration for the first Flour Bluff session, campers can receive an exclusive $60 discount for the second week of camp.

VISUAL ARTS CAMPS

K Space’s Mural Arts Program for Teens – K Space Contemporary

What to Expect: The only camp of its kind in the Coastal Bend, K Space Contemporary’s annual Mural Arts Program is designed for teens ages 13-17 interested in getting involved with the local art community. Hosted at K Space Contemporary and Art Studios, campers will work together to create a new mural that will be installed in the community. In addition to in-studio work days, on-site work days, and sessions, weekly sessions happen from June 15 through July 24 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Sign Up: Participants must apply to attend the camp by May 13. Accepted artists will be notified of their selection by May 21. This year’s camp participants will have the opportunity to attend for free.

Art Museum of South Texas Summer Camp

The Fine Art of Summer Camp – Art Museum of South Texas

What to Expect: Geared towards children ages K5-12, the Art Museum of South Texas’ summer art camp sessions are perfect for kiddos looking to creatively express themselves. Each session includes art activities such as drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and improvisation. On the final day of each session, an exhibition of the work produced and a public performance is held for families and friends. Every session even has a theme, such as “Comic & Cartoon Art” and “K-pop Shadow Stars'” Sessions run for one week each, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., with pre- and after-care available.

Youth Summer Pottery Program – Barry Brown Clay Studio

What to Expect: Allow your child to get their hands dirty while being creative this summer at Barry Brown Clay Studio’s pottery program. Geared for students ages 10-18, each three-day session will provide hands-on pottery lessons where they’ll learn both hand-building techniques and the pottery wheel. No prior experience needed, the camp sessions begin June 10 and end August 6.

PERFORMING ARTS CAMPS

Young Actors Summer Camp – Aurora Arts Theatre

What to Expect: Aurora Arts Theatre’s summer camp offers six sessions created for children ages 9-16 looking to experience the magic of the stage! With sessions available in June and July, each one runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with snacks provided. Talented instructors will guide campers through games and activities focused on improvisation, character development, audition techniques, script analysis, tips for memorizing lines and stage direction.

Theatre on the Island – TAMU-CC

What to Expect: One of two summer theatre camps by TAMU-CC, Theatre on the Island offers two week-long sessions for children ages 9-14 interested in “a highly intensive and creative” workshop experience. Both camps, taking place over the first two weeks of June, will offer attendees an opportunity to create, rehearse and perform scenes led by college theatre students and professors. The first week, Classic Stories, will focus on scenes from Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, & The Wizard of Oz, while the following Twisted Fairytales will allow campers to perform their own fairytale creation.

Camp on the Coast – TAMU-CC

What to Expect: Do you have high school-aged children interested in theatre arts? Check out TAMU-CC’s Summer Theatre Workshop, a two-week residential camp for students seeking a real theatre experience. Campers interested in performance will study acting, voice and movement techniques taught by one of the university’s theatre faculty members. Those interested in the more technical side will attend classes in design, aid in creating the production’s sets and costumes and participate as crew members for the shows. The camp takes place from June 21 through July 3. Meals are included for all campers and are included in the tuition price.

Young Peoples Theatre Camp – Harbor Playhouse

What to Expect: Created for children ages 6-15, Harbor Playhouse’s annual Young Peoples Theatre Camp is great for all young thespians. Campers will create, produce and perform their very own musical at the end of each session on the theatre’s Main Stage. Through various workshops, your children will build acting, dancing and voice skills, along with characterization with team leadership, ensemble work, creative growth and friendships. There are four sessions available this summer, with themes ranging from “Heroes and Villains” to “Time Travelers” and “Bright Lights on Broadway.” Sessions are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with before- and after-care options available.

Play Out Loud Summer Camps – Play Out Loud Music Studio

What to Expect: Founded by the talented and passionate Valerie McInroy, Play Out Loud Music Studios offers a variety of summer camp sessions focused on the art of playing instruments, ranging from the “Piano Boot Camp” session to the “Rock Me Amadeus: Mozart Meets the 80’s” session. Two-day sessions run every week from June 8 to July 13, and while most are geared for children 11 years old and up, there are several sessions for ages 5-8.

RECREATIONAL SUMMER CAMPS

Pony Camp 2025 – KJ Equestrian

What to Expect: The perfect camp for all horse lovers, join KJ Equestrian for two three-day camp sessions on June 1-3 and June 29-July 1. Created for children ages 5 and up, campers will take part in horse riding and care, along with arts and crafts activities, nature walks and games. Camp times run from 8 a.m. to noon and cost $355 to participate. No prior experience is required.

Corpus Christi Hooks Summer Camp

Hooks Baseball Camp

What to Expect: Batter up! The Corpus Christi Hooks teammates are ready to teach the next generation of all-stars with their summer baseball camp. Available for children ages 5-12, two three-day sessions from 9 a.m. to noon will take place June 17-19 and Jul 8-10. Campers will learn skills, techniques and conditioning from the “Astros Stars of Tomorrow.”

Sign up: The camp costs $150 per session, and registration requests may be filling out the form for session one or session two. Enrollment opens April 8.

South Texas All-Star Basketball Summer Camp

What to Expect: Geared for those entering grades kindergarten through twelfth, South Texas All-Star Basketball offers a variety of summer camp options for young athletes looking to sharpen their skills. With a 35-year reputation of excellence, the camp focuses on fundamentals with a heavy focus on shooting, passing and ball handling. This year’s sessions are at First Baptist Church on June 8-12 and July 13-13, with a third session at Incarnate Word Academy on June 29 – July 3. Morning (8 a.m. to noon at $175), afternoon (1-5 p.m. at $175) and day camps (8 a.m.-5 p.m. with lunch included at $300) are available.

KidStrong Summer Camp

What to Expect: KidStrong’s science-based training program exercises the body, brain and character of children ages 4-11 through group trainings separated by age. Parents can choose the week-long, all-day camps running Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Certified coaches promise that by the end of the summer, kids will leave with brand new friends and double the confidence, right in time for the upcoming school year.

2026 Summer Camp – Texas Surf Camps

What to Expect: Texas Surf Camps are open to ages 6-18, with private lessons available for ages 6 and under. The camp runs Monday through Friday, with morning, afternoon and full day (8:45 a.m. – 2 p.m.) sessions availabl  from May 25 to Aug. 22. The Surf Camp alternates locations between Corpus Christi and Port Aransas during 24 total sessions. Campers must have basic swimming skills. Campers should bring sunscreen, rash guards and lunch; however, food orders can be placed at check-in for the Port Aransas location only.
