Mark your calendars for these events happening in and around Corpus Christi this month. From Broadway productions to charity events, there is something for everyone!

January 1

Corpus Christi Polar Bear Plunge 2025

Start your new year with a splash into Corpus Christi Bay! A local take on the global tradition, the CC Polar Bear Plunge will take place at the Emerald Beach hotel and include a warm-up run with Corpus Christi Roadrunners at 11:15 a.m., a post-plunge hot tub, snacks and more.

January 6

The Book of Mormon

The nine-time Tony Award®-winning musical The Book of Mormon is coming to the American Bank Center on Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m. Hailed as “the best musical of this century” by The New York Times, this uproarious production has captivated audiences with its humor and brilliance. Please note, the show contains explicit language.

January 18

55th Martin Luther King Freedom Fund Gala

Join the NAACP Corpus Christi chapter for its 55th annual Freedom Fund Gala honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. and include dinner, live entertainment, speakers and honorable acknowledgments.

January 18

FIT FEST 2025

Start the new year off on the right foot with the 2nd annual Fit Fest 5K at the American Bank Center. Celebrating all things health and fitness, the expo will feature a wide variety of wellness vendors, fitness experts, sports tournaments and more. Registration includes a goodie bag and tickets to the Fit Fest expo. Proceeds benefit Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

January 18

Wizard Fest Corpus Christi

Wizard Fest transforms Brewster Street Icehouse-Downtown into a magical celebration of witchcraft and wizardry. Starting at 8 p.m., guests can enjoy wizard-themed drinks, games, a cosplay contest and a live DJ; guests of all ages are invited to dress in their finest wizard attire for a spellbinding evening.

West Side Story

The Aurora Arts Theatre celebrates its 15th anniversary with the return of West Side Story, opening Jan. 24. This classic musical reimagines Romeo and Juliet in modern-day New York City, exploring love and division between the feuding Jets and Sharks. With unforgettable music and a poignant narrative, it’s a powerful start to the 2025 season.

January 31

2025 Boots & Bling Ball

Save the date for New Life Refuge Ministries’ annual fundraising event Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. Hosted at the South Texas Botanical Gardens, the evening will include silent and live auctions, live music, special guest speakers and more.
