Alright people, Thanksgiving is officially over and Christmas season has begun; and if you are looking for a way to ring in the Christmas spirit, this is just the place. The 2019 Peppermint LanebrHoliday Kick-Off & Celebration presented by the Corpus Christi DowntownbrManagement District (DMD) will be spreading a whole slew of holiday cheer on Chaparral Street. This free-to-attend celebration will take place onbrSaturday, November 30th, from 12 – 6 pm at the 300 and 400 blocks of Chaparral. This year’s event will include live music, pictures with Santa,brcarnival rides, arts and crafts, food trucks, inflatables, and shop smallbrvendors.

Peppermint Lane is an age-old local tradition, established in thebr1960s adorning downtown with festive holiday décor and lights to bring thebrcommunity together with a signature event perfectly kicking off the holiday season.

This year the DMD will debut The Downtown Corpus Christi ColoringbrBook Volume 1 at Peppermint Lane – the first of its kind for the community. Thebrcoloring book features iconic downtown images drawn by Ricardo Gallegos,brco-owner of Elevated Screen Printing, and will be for sale while supplies lastbrfor $10. Gallegos found inspiration in various downtown landmarks and even looked to local photographers and illustrated a few of their photos depicting iconic shots from the area.

Peppermint Lane Holiday Kick-Off & Celebration is part of thebr2019 Holiday Event Series, which includes Deck Downtown, Lights in the Parkbrfrom November 10th – January 6th, and the Mayor’s Battle of the Bulbs presentedbrby Valero Bill Greehy Refineries from November 23rd – January 3rd.
Put those pumpkins away and bust out the Santa hats and candy canes, for the spirit of the holiday season is in full swing!
