From the company that brought us Diamond Point Catering and Rockit’s is a new concept at the Art Center of Corpus Christi: Gallery 41 Water’s Edge Grill. This corner bistro space at the Art Center has seen many occupants over the years, but none are as complementary to the neighboring art galleries as this.
Hospitality giant CC Turnkey has mastered the catering and events space, but launching a fine-dining establishment of this kind is a new venture. Beginning in the summer of 2023, the space underwent an extensive renovation and as of March 2024, Gallery 41 is bringing patrons a chic atmosphere to pair with an upscale menu.
“From ribbon cuttings to weddings, quinceañeras, corporate parties, reunions and everything in between — we love investing in the people around us,” said Volkan Koç, managing partner of CC Turnkey and Gallery 41’s General Manager. This new venture exists as an extension of the company’s mission in a smaller setting, focused on progressing and contributing to Downtown’s thriving art scene.
From the theatrical dining area adorned with a floral-covered ceiling to the shaded waterfront patio with bay views from every seat, the atmosphere sets the stage for an experience that exemplifies the culinary arts.
CC Turnkey drew on catering menu successes to curate food and drink options with coastal influence and some plant-based selects too. The menu spotlights locally sourced ingredients as much as possible, such as fresh black drum on the John Bonham drum nachos garnished with cucumber pico, jalapeno, cotija cheese and avocado cream; or the Blackened Drum sandwich served with mixed greens and lemon chive aioli on homemade French bread. The entrees impress with a Bulleit bourbon-glazed Atlantic salmon, or the cauliflower steak served over homemade hummus topped with gremolata.
Order the Paper Plane cocktail with Aperol, Bulleit bourbon, Amaro Nonino and lemon juice to sip at the arched emerald backlit bar during happy hour, or stop by the patio for a late-night dessert of chocolate churro cake and coffee.
On the heels of the Art Center’s $2 million refresh, art and cuisine marry at Gallery 41 to form a quintessential Downtown Corpus Christi establishment in just a few short months. With plans to display works from local artists, there’s no doubt that the waterfront restaurant will continue to not only expand its patrons’ palates in cuisine, but in local fine art as well.
