Inspired by one of Selena’s most memorable songs, Vianney Rodriguez whipped up a fresh cantaloupe margarita, featured at her Raised on Selena event, to celebrate the late Tejano’s life, legacy, and impact on Latinos everywhere. The 512 is a loving nod from Selena to Corpus Christi, Texas’s former area code.
El Chico del Apartamento 512 Margarita
Makes 2 cocktails
INGREDIENTS
• 4 ounces fresh cantaloupe juice
• 4 ounces tequila Blanco
• 2 ounces lime juice
• 1 ounce Cointreau
• lime wedges
• kosher salt
DIRECTIONS
• Run a lime wedge around glass and rim with salt. Fill glass with ice.
• In a cocktail shaker filled with ice add cantaloupe juice, tequila, lime juice and Cointreau.
• Shake vigorously, strain and serve. Garnish with lime & cantaloupe
