Art Center of Corpus Christi's Annual Souper Bowl Event

Over 1,000 ceramic bowls have been crafted for Souper Bowl 2020, a unique event that bringsbrtogether two integral non-profit organizations in the Coastal Bend. On Thursday,brFebruary 27,  from 5pm – 8pm at the ArtbrCenter of Corpus Christi, the Coastal Bend Food Bank (CBFB) and the Art Centerbrof Corpus Christi unite for an evening filled with a variety of thebrbest soups in town to sample, taste, and enjoy.

“The Coastal Bend Food Bank is proud to partner with the ArtbrCenter of Corpus Christi for such a fun and unique fundraising event,” sharesbrMicaela Stewart from CBFB. “Together, we encourage and support local artists,brand at the same time, we bring awareness to the problem of hunger in thebrcoastal bend.”

Ticketbrproceeds benefit both the Coastal Bend Food Bank and the Art Center of CorpusbrChristi, ranging from $35-$100, each purchase includes a handcrafted bowl. Ifbryou purchase the VIP Green Apron, a complimentary drink ticket will be added asbrwell as VIP early access to the bowls 30 minutes before general admission.

The ArtbrCenter’s Manager, Erin Moses Lichter, says, this beloved fundraiser “showcasesbrthe passions of each organization – food and art. The best part is that the wholebrcommunity gets involved – roughly 25 local restaurants donate and servebrdelicious soup that attendees get to sample and eat all night long.”

Local artistsbrfrom The Barry Brown Clay Studio are the working hands behind each unique bowlbryou’ll see at this event. If you find more than one you like, additional bowlsbrwill be available to purchase for $25 each!

“The artistsbrin our Barry Brown Clay Studio have been generously working hard for monthsbrcreating hundreds of hand-made bowls to choose from. Every person leaves with abrhand-made bowl, a belly full of soup, and an improved sense of community,”brshares Erin.
