Year after year, Brewster Street Icehouse has set the local standard for serving up good food and quality entertainment for the whole family. With the opening of its third location, the good times are brought to the beach (or at least just down the road from the sand). You can continue the fun with good food and a cold drink in hand at its newest location on The Island.
“The original concept for Brewster’s started in downtown Corpus Christi,” explained Marisol Ramirez, Director of Marketing for Durrill Properties. “Ultimately, [Bill Durrill] wanted a spot where he could have a cold beer, good food, listen to good music, but still keep it an atmosphere where his kids were welcomed. We continue to do that today.”
Expanding Brewster’s has long been a part of the plan, and Avery Durrill, Chief Marketing Officer, and her dad, Bill Durrill, have had their eyes on The Island. “They love being out here, but never did we imagine we would be on The Island in 2025,” Ramirez explained. Similar to the Downtown and Southside locations, you will find plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, a stage for live music and a playground for the kids. The views of the canal are what set the new location apart, though, and the view is not compromised whether you decide to enjoy the AC inside or bask in the sun on the outside patio.
Diners will still find all their favorites at the island location, such as the chicken-fried steak, wings, fish tacos and seasonal items. Happy hour is every weekday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with $3 beers, well, seltzers and margaritas. Along with happy hour, a $5 drink of the month and signature drinks are offered every month.
If the food and drink aren’t enough to keep you coming back for more, the live music on any given Thursday, Friday or Saturday invites you to stay a little longer than you planned. “Capturing that homegrown talent is big for us. We believe in investing in local talent. That’s really important to us,” Ramirez said.
“Being that it is family-owned, we treat people like family, whether that’s you walking through our doors, working for us or playing on our stages. We believe that you’re a part of the Brewster’s family,” she continued. Now, there are triple the chances to kick back, relax and have a good time—with a killer view to pair.
