The BailandobrInternational Dance Festival of Corpus Christi celebrates its 20th anniversarybrat the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Texas A&M University-CorpusbrChristi on October 3 – 5, 2019. The three-day international dance festival willbrhost masterclasses in a variety of dance styles, taught by internationallybrrenowned professionals in the field of dance, represented by over 14bruniversities and cities nationally and worldwide.

The festivalbrhosts two evening concerts on Thursday, October 3 and Friday, October 4 tobrcelebrate aspiringbrchoreographers and their original works. A Gala Celebration on Saturday,brOctober 5 will fill the evening with contemporary and classical dance worksbrperformed by the Corpus Christi Ballet, Alcorta’s Compañía de Danza Folklórica,brand an exceptional performance by Corpus Christi’s local dance students frombrarea schools, along with Ad Deum Dance Company from Houston, Ballet SanbrAntonio, and international guest artists, Danza Universitaria and IMAGODANZAbrfrom Costa Rica.

“ThebrBailando International Dance Festival wants to be a part of the growth of ourbryoung dancers,” says Jilissa Cotton, Producer of Bailando and Director of Dancebrat TAMUCC. “They get to work side by side with up to 40 professional dancersbrand teachers in just two days. Founded inbr2000 by Nancy Sulik, Artistic Director of Concert Ballet, and Jilissa Cotten,brDirector of Dance at TAMUCC, the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization was establishedbrto bring in quality artists from around the world to perform and teach masterbrclasses during a three-day event, showcasing aspiring choreographers andbroffering performances to the Corpus Christi community. Creating outreachbropportunities for the dance community in Corpus Christi are significant aspectsbrin the mission of the Bailando International Dance Festival.
