Janet’s Cakery
There are few residents of the Coastal Bend who can’t sing the Janet’s Cakery jingle, and that’s not without reason — this cake shop has been up and running in the area for years, and has established itself as a local staple. The bakery specializes in special-order cakes and treats, including cupcakes and petit fours, and is located in the Market on Everhart.

Let Them Eat Cake
This family-owned bakery, also located on Everhart, takes specialty cake orders, but also has a “Cupcake Bar” where patrons can construct their own confections. Plebians and aristocrats alike can enjoy a sweet pastry or tart. And, if mini cakes aren’t your thing, these bakers offer mini cheesecakes! Qu’ils magnet de la brioche!

Coastal Confections
This new bakery on Alameda offers a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, and brownies. The shop is perfect for a sweet stop before a walk on the bay front, or a place to sit and chat with friends over pastries and locally roasted Driftwood coffee.

Hamlin Bakery
Hamlin Fountain and Gifts has been a Corpus entity since 1960, and is Corpus’ last soda fountain. The fountain, located on the corner of Weber and South Staples, has a full-functioning bakery that offers various treats and eats — stop in to see what’s available at the counter! The fountain is also a great stop if you’re looking for lunch to accompany your cupcake. We at The Bend hear the fountain is famous for its chili!

Hester’s Café and Coffee Bar
Hester’s Café and Coffee Bar has three locations in the Coastal Bend — one in Six Points, one in Lamar Park, and another at the Art Museum of South Texas. Hours vary according to location, so check their website before you go! Hester’s is known for its, well, café and coffee, but the shop also includes a bakery that offers a variety of sweet treats every day. (And, if you can’t wait for the afternoon, you can grab a cupcake at brunch!)
