8 Pumpkin Patches in Corpus Christi to Visit this Fall

Nothing says fall quite like the arrival of pumpkin patches. Here are eight different locations to check out between now and Halloween.

The arrival of pumpkin patches is a sure sign of the seasons changing. From wandering through the rows to find the perfect choice and taking family photos to carving jack-o-lanterns and roasting the seeds, nothing says fall quite like pumpkins. With a variety of options to choose from, here are eight pumpkin patches in Corpus Christi to check out between now and Halloween.

Asbury United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

Bring the family to take photos at Asbury UMC’s picture-perfect pumpkin patch. This annual pumpkin patch features thousands of pumpkins to create the best photo-op backgrounds. You can help get the patch ready by volunteering at its Pumpkin Unloading event on Oct. 16–just bring gloves, water bottles and clothes that can get a bit dirty.

When: The patch will be open starting on Oct. 17, every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. until Halloween or sell out.

Where: 7501 S. Staples St. 

Pro Tip: The picture patch is open from sunrise until dark for family photo-ops!

Portland First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

Portland’s First United Methodist Church’s annual pumpkin patch offers special event programming all month long. The patch offers a wide range of various-sized pumpkins and gourds, along with photoshoot opportunities and activities for the kids. Admission to the patch is free, and proceeds of pumpkin purchases benefit the Build-A-Home Ministry.

When: The pumpkin patch will be open Oct. 5 – 31, Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Where: 4545 Wildcat Dr.

Pro Tip: Stop by the patch for pet picture day on Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. or for movie night on Oct. 25 for two showings of “It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” at 7:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.

St. Peter’s by the Sea Pumpkin Patch

Head over to St. Peter’s by the Sea’s Pumpkin Patch, where you’ll find plenty of pumpkins starting at $1. Proceeds from this patch support local missions.

When: Check its Facebook page for updates on when the patch officially opens this year.

Where: 1541 Waldron Rd.

Pro Tip: This patch has an excellent selection of mini pumpkins perfect for gifting to teachers, bosses and friends.

Rockin’ K Farms Pumpkin Patch & Fall Festival

Looking for the perfect pumpkin photo op? Rockin’ K Farms has you covered with a pumpkin barn and house! These fall fields feature everything from train rides and corn mazes to campfires and pumpkin smashing. Your general admission ticket grants you access to the pumpkin barn, giant slide, maze, cow train, playground and more. The Farm opens its doors back up Sept. 27, so if you’re eager to scratch that fall itch, they’ve got you covered.

When: Open through Nov. 2, every Saturday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday until 5 p.m.

Where: 5385 County Road 52

Pro Tip: Check the farm’s social media pages before heading out, as the weather might affect its operating hours.

Grace United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

Grab your pumpkins before they’re gone at the Grace UMC Pumpkin Patch. Pumpkins arrive Oct. 12, and the church is seeking volunteers to help unload the goods! This patch offers a variety of events, such as Family Night in the Patch on Oct. 17 and the Fall Festival and Market on Oct. 18.

When: The patch, which always has a great selection of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, will be open from Oct. 13 – 27, every Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and 1-7 p.m. on Sundays.

Where: 14521 Northwest Blvd.

Pro Tip: Schedule a special storytime in the patch for the kiddos by emailing ahead of time.

Corpus Christi First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

Corpus Christi First UMC Pumpkin Patch is back with a harvest of pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes and a variety of fall photo opportunities to raise awareness and funds for its Children’s Literacy Initiative. The Initiative is working to bring Project Transformation to Corpus Christi and to raise the funds needed to be a Dolly Parton Imagination Library partner while also working year-round with its partner schools – Vinson Morris Children’s Center, TG Allen Elementary and Metro E by providing Little Free Libraries and Bi-Lingual Community Story Walks.

When: Oct. 5 until Oct. 31 (or until sold out), Sunday through Friday 12-6 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Where: CCFUMC Garden of Grace (located behind CCFUMC Building) at 1001 S. Water Street

Pro Tip: Storytime and field trips for groups or schools are available by calling or filling out the form online.  Special family activities will take place every Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

St. John’s United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch

St. John’s United Methodist Church’s pumpkin patch is back this year and better than ever! With more than 5,000 pumpkins and a few photo-ops for your family and your pets, this patch is a perfect stop for bayside Corpus Christi residents. The patch kids off Oct. 4 with a big community effort to unload and set up thousands of pumpkins. Volunteers are invited to help, with donuts, pizza and water provided for all helpers.

When: Open daily starting Oct. 4 through Halloween, from 12:30 p.m. til nightfall.

Where: 5300 S. Alameda

Pro Tip: Got farm animals or wildlife to feed? Towards the end of October, this patch sets out broken pumpkins for grabs—first-come, first-served! These are perfect for deer, chickens, turtles and more. Just pull up to the designated spot in the parking lot and take what you need.

First Learning Tree Daycare Pumpkin Patch 

Pumpkins are arriving on Sept. 27 at First Learning Tree Daycare in Rockport! Throughout the month, they’ll be hosting community events in the patch with kids games and photo opportunities. All proceeds benefit First Learning Tree.

When: Check its Facebook page for updated hours of opperation.

Where: 503 S. Live Oak St.
