Pride Month is celebrated internationally every June to honor and recognize the LGBTQIA+ community and its numerous accomplishments, progress and contributions to our history, emerging from the Stonewall Riots in June 1969.

Here in Corpus Christi, you’ll find many interactive and exciting ways to celebrate Pride Month, and we’ve compiled a list of events happening in the area to help you plan ahead. In addition to those listed below, numerous events are organized by small business owners, local artists and community groups, showcasing the diversity, inclusivity and creativity in our city. Check out event calendars from organizations such as PRIDE Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation and the Coastal Bend Pride Center for additional programming throughout the month.

Generations: An Evening with LGBTQ+ Elders of the Coastal Bend | June 23

Part of the beauty of Pride Month is the ability to bring a community together in a way that ignores superficial differences like race, gender and age. For the first time in Pride CC’s history comes Generations, a forum dedicated entirely to ease communications between older generations, the organization itself and anyone in attendance. The two-hour evening, hosted in partnership with All Saints Episcopal Church, aims to share the experiences, needs and ideas for the future of LGBTQ+ elders in the Coastal Bend. Split up into three separate conversations — a look into a recent South Texas assessment of LGBTQ+ seniors, the next chapter of an ongoing LGBTQ+ history time capsule and open comments — join in on an evening of education anytime from 6 to 8 p.m. Light refreshments provided. The venue is accessible, and the evening is free and open to all.
