Open Mic nights in Corpus Christi serve as a space for people to express themselves through music, comedy, or poetry in a variety of different atmospheres. Whether you are artistically inclined toward performance or just want to have a listen or laugh, check out these 5 local establishments for a taste of various kinds of local free style talent.

1. Coffee Waves

For a smaller crowd, listen to local music in this quaint, relaxed environment indoors or out on the patio while sipping on your favorite coffee beverage or gelato of choice. Coffee Waves has open mic nights every other Wednesday from 8-11:30 PM. The show itself is free and you get the chance to support local talent!

2. House of Rock

Including, but not limited to just rock music, open mic night at House of Rock is a weekly event for all talent and age ranges. Enjoy a variety of drinks as well as delicious pizza and wings while listening to local entertainment. House of Rock hold open mic nights every Tuesday night at 8PM. Get up on stage and sing a song, share a poem, or share literally any other talent you might have!

3. Comics Live Comedy Club

Inside the downtown Bella Luna restaurant, local comedian, John Roman, hosts open mic nights to give spectators a good laugh. After listening to scheduled guests at 8 PM, open mic night starts at 9 PM for those who want to give stand up comedy a try. Bella Luna hosts this event every Thursday night and you can bet there is no shortage of laugher involved.

4. Executive Surf Club

For a larger scale, more upbeat environment, enjoy music from local artists on the patio of The Surf Club while enjoying a wide range of drink and food items. Every Wednesday you can catch an awesome lineup of local musicians here for a night of good tunes and a good time. You must sign up to participate beginning at 7 PM.

5. The Rialto Theatre

Take a visit to Aransas Pass to the Rialto Theater to hear from local musicians in a historic theater setting. Admission is free and drinks and concessions are available for purchase every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 9 PM! The acts begin at 6:30, but here is a pro tip—the bar opens up at 6 o’clock sharp, so maybe get there a little early for all the happy hour specials!
