It’s the time of year when Downtown Corpus Christi will get a few more splashes of color as artists from far and wide come together for another year of Mural Fest. For 2026, five new murals will be revealed during Mural Fest x ArtWalk on Friday, June 5, starting at 8:30 p.m.
This year marks the 5th annual Downtown Corpus Christi Mural Fest. Since the inaugural event, a total of 26 new murals have enhanced the downtown visual experience. These murals feature artists from all over the country, while always including local artists in the mix. Following in the set tradition, K Space Contemporary will work with local youth and community members to create a new collaborative mural. K Space Contemporary has made significant contributions to the beautification of the Corpus Christi landscape, having led over 30 mural projects in the city since 2008.

“Mural Fest continues to demonstrate how strategic arts investment supports economic development,” said Arlene Medrano, Executive Director of the Downtown Management District. “These projects activate underutilized spaces, attract visitors and reinforce downtown as a place where creativity, business and community intersect.”
The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) is proud to work with this year’s group of talented visiting artists, all of whom are internationally recognized muralists. The lineup features Anna Charney from Denver, DB STUDIO from Los Angeles, Lucas Aoki from Córdoba, Argentina, who’s based in Austin, and Megan Oldhues from Toronto, Canada. Additionally, local artist volunteers and students, guided by K Space Executive Director Michelle Smythe, will participate through the K Space Mural Arts Program.
2026 Mural Fest festivities start at 11 a.m. on May 3o with a Community Kick-Off at BUS. The event invites guests of all ages to stop by and help paint a piece of the community mural alongside a live DJ, local food offerings and family-friendly activities. From then until the Mural Fest takeover of ArtWalk, artists will be live painting on full display for anyone strolling downtown. The official unveiling during MuralWalk on June 5 will show off the completed pieces, and the next day’s Artist Summit at Executive Surf Club will feature a moderated panel open to the public.

Mural Fest x ArtWalk welcomes visitors to take self-guided tours of the new additions to downtown’s public art scene throughout the evening and will feature the usual wide variety of block parties and pop-up stages with live music, food trucks and vendors. All murals will be set within downtown’s footprint, and the locations shake out as follows: Aoki’s dreamlike surrealism will take over the Caller Times Building, DB STUDIO’s vibrant colors will paint the Hilliard Parking Garage, Oldhues’ colorful impressionism will cover the Auric Building, Charney’s abstract shapes and spirals will find a home at Homewood Suites Lot and K Space’s community mural will reshape Mesquite St Garage.
Mural Fest’s presenting sponsor, Corpus Christi Medical Center, understands the value public art brings to a community’s quality of life. “Investing in projects that support the Downtown District is one way we help our community thrive,” said David Irizarry, Chief Executive Officer of Corpus Christi Medical Center. “Mural Fest brings people together, celebrates local and national artists and reflects the culture that makes Corpus Christi home. We’re proud to partner in strengthening the heart of our city.”
