ArtWalk Block Parties is back this Friday from 5:30–9:00 pm on Peoples Street, Lomax Street and La Retama Park. Plus, head to the Art Museum of South Texas for First Fridays: Presented by Frost Bank, featuring free admission all day long. Then swing by the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures for a celebratory kite-making class!

On Sunday at 11:30 am, prove your skills at the Mayor’s Independence Fajita Cookoff at Nueces Brewery. Compete for the winning title of best fajitas in the Coastal Bend with Mayor Paulette Guajardo as a judge. The entry fee is $50 and includes beef supplied by STX Beef.

The 45th Annual Mayor’s Big Bang Celebration takes place this Sunday downtown at the Corpus Christi bayfront. Bring along the family to enjoy fireworks and festivities, including the 7th Annual Corpus Christi Food Truck Summerfest happening all day long with tons of delicious bites, a kids zone and more. You can also head to the USS Lexington Museum for Red, White & Boom, featuring exhibits, food, drinks, and the best fireworks view on the flight deck.
