New Bakery Celebrates the Art of Taking a Break

Fika, a new scratch bakery, is set to open soon, bringing the Swedish tradition of the coffee break to the Bay Area neighborhood. Founded by local artisan baker Jeannette Del Angel, Fika will offer a cozy space for the community to enjoy locally roasted coffee, scratch-made pastries–such as raspberry pistachio twists and pear ginger danishes–and artisan breads. Though the micro-bakery hasn’t opened its doors quite yet, Fika has been popping up at local coffee shops to give samplings of what’s to come.
