HOLLY-DAYS at the GARDENS adds 5th weekend, 4 Eco Christmas Trees, more light displays, and 2 15-foot wooden reindeer!
With SANTA, huge lighted fir, hayrides, petting zoo, photo ops, s’mores & cocoa
CORPUS CHRISTI– South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center, 8545 S. Staples St., brightens the Coastal Bend with its annual HOLLY-DAYS at the GARDENS, Friday evenings and Saturdays, November 24/25, December 1/2, 8/9, 15/16, 22/23, presented by VALERO. Friday hours are 5:30-7:30 pm; Saturdays, 12-7:30 pm.
Showstoppers are the traditional 20-foot fresh lighted fir tree donated by Joyce Barnette, plus internationally-known environmental artist Shelia Rogers’ 18-foot lighted Eco Christmas Tree with thousands of recycled green plastic bottles, with four smaller 2023 versions turning the winter-empty Plumeria Garden into Emerald Forest.
Cherry Blossom trees, seasonal ocean décor, Texas-sized wood reindeer, giant candy canes, Butterfly House Curtain of Lights, and Christmas décor in Conservatories turn the grounds “merry & bright!”
“Holly-Days began in 2018 at the wish of our board, growing each year in length and scope,” explained Executive Director Michael Womack. “Designed as a unique lighted event with activities for residents, their guests and tourists, it’s filled a niche in the Gulf Coast Capital’s Christmas,” added Marketing Director MaryJane Crull.
All activities but s’mores/cocoa, photos with animal ambassadors is covered by general admission or membership.
