What every plumeria lover waits for is almost here! The Plumeria Society of South
Texas presents its annual “Plumeria Passions” seminar, at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23, at the South Texas
Botanical Gardens & Nature Center, 8545 S. Staples St.; followed by its July 30 annual PLUMERIA SALE, 10
a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Garden Senior Center, 5325 Greeley.
Seminar prepares buyers for sale—reservations required.
In the seminar, Plumeria Garden co-curator Renee Brown will discuss tips on shopping for, raising and
wintering these fragrant exotic tropical beauties, leading a tour of the Gardens & Nature Center’s
impressive “Plumeria Grove,” and Willoughby Viewing Platform. Spaced seating is available at the
seminar, in Education Station classroom, facemasks suggested. Others may attend by ZOOM. Class is free
with general admission or membership, $5 others. For seating reservations, or ZOOM connection, call

Free admission to Sale at Garden Senior Center
Free and open to the public, at the July 30 sale, Plumeria Society cuttings and rooted plants, named and
unnamed varieties, will be sold, with proceeds benefitting the Botanical Gardens’ Plumeria Garden,
established and maintained by the hard-working Plumeria Society, always welcoming new members.
The Plumeria Society, started in 1993 by Robert Owen, established the Plumeria exhibit with more than
100 plants from member collections prior to the 1996 dedication of the Botanical Gardens site. For more
