A festive celebration of culture commemorates Native American Heritage Month and shares an appreciation of the nation’s first people and culture. Established to honor Native Americans as the first people of this nation and celebrate their cultural heritage and integral importance to our past, present, and future, Indigenous Heritage Day celebrates the diverse and rich cultures and histories of Native American people.

Observed on November 26, a day after Thanksgiving, Native Americans are accorded special honor on this day to celebrate their rich cultures, accomplishments, contributions, and heritage. To honor the strength and resiliency of Native Americans, the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History presents an Indigenous Heritage Day event on Saturday, November 27, from 10 am-5 pm at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History.

Celebrate the traditions and cultures of the Native Americans through Native American art activities, a live painting demo by Artist Oscar Wheat, ceremonial demonstrations, and more. Additional features include Museum LIVE! Theater, Science Shows, a unique Native American Planetarium Show, and a documentary screening of Traditional Dances in Native American cultures.

Entry for the event is general admission for non-members and free for Museum Members. To purchase tickets online and to learn more about Indigenous Heritage Day, visit the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History website.
