Barefoot Mardi Gras

Always held the Saturday before Fat Tuesday, the 9 th Annual Barefoot Mardi Gras with Parade, Festival and King & Queens Ball is scheduled for February 10, 2018. The Barefoot Parade, which travels the beach on North Padre Island between Whitecap Blvd and Nueces County Park Rd near Access Road 5, is expected to have 60+ floats. The Official Barefoot festivities kick off when the Parade begins at 11am. The Barefoot Festival, with its party of food trucks, artists, exhibitors and children’s activities, will be bigger with new additions, The Kidz Fun Zone and a Mardi Gras Costume Contest! Open from 11am – 5pm, in Balli Park at the Briscoe King Pavilion, you’ll find lots of family fun, happy hour prices and live music this year from OTB. The King & Queens Ball, held at the Veranda Restaurant at Schlitterbahn, has ramped up the adult only night with a new Cajun menu and a shrimp boil with Rollin’ Tide Boil Company. Party from 7pm to midnight with dance music featuring Caribbean funk and New Orleans style blues from the band Splendiferous. Come join the best ‘Cajun Party’ of the year! Tickets are $30 before February 5, 2018 and $40 after February 6, 2018. Tickets can be purchased at Schlitterbahn Resort Corpus Christi and online at Enjoy ‘Happy Hour’ drink specials until 9PM. Put on your royal beads and feathers ‘cause we will be crowning our new 2018 Barefoot Mardi Gras King & Queen! Plus adult face painting and fortune telling on site!! Other Barefoot events include the Kick Off Party on January 23, 2018 at the Angry Marlin Restaurant and the Fat Friday Party on February 2, 2018 at the Brisco King Pavilion. Barefoot Mardi Gras is presented by Lone Star Beer & Coastline Properties. Proceeds from the event benefit the Island Foundation Schools and the Port Aransas Independent School District.
