In a time of a global health crisis, boosting blood donations is more critical than ever. "Donate blood, save lives," the saying goes. That's why the Coastal Bend Blood Center is hosting the blood drive of the summer season, Rock N Roll Up Your Sleeve beginning today through Sunday, June 28th at Cavender's Boot City. According to the organization, blood donations have dropped significantly. The Coastal Bend Blood Center aims to collect more than 100 donations each day to supply patients served at the 19 medical facilities within the 10-county area.

At this weekend's blood drive event, donors will enter a raffle to win SeaWorld Tickets, Texas State Aquarium Tickets, Family Fun Pack from In The Game Funtrackers, Kendra Scott Jewelry and gift cards to local eateries and stores. The Blood Bank is also offering free testing for COVID-19 antibodies. Free testing is for a limited time during the summer months, so stop by to donate before tests are no longer available. Donors are required to wear a mask.

"Rock N Roll Up Your Sleeve Weekend Blood Drive offers our community an opportunity to come together safely and prepare our shelves for the 4th of July," says Donor Recruiter, Hannah Halepaska. "Things will look a little differently this year, but the community support and giveaway prizes are better than ever! On top of all the life-saving fun, donors will also receive a free COVID-19 Antibody test when they donate blood."

Blood Drive times for the Rock N Roll Up Your Sleeve Blood Drive are:

  • Friday, June 26th from 12 pm – 7 pm
  • Saturday, June 27th from 9 am – 5 pm
  • Sunday, June 28th from 9 am – 5 pm
